Pines Hunter Derby Day Ticketed Warm Up for Derby Participants only There will be a ticketed warm up before each derby. Each derby has excellent prizes from local vendors including Ace Equestrian, The Equestrian Centre, Smartpak, and more. Trophy and 8 ribbons in each section. 400. Sapling Derby Section A 2’ or Section B 2’3” CHJA Rated. This is a two round class with no restrictions on horse or rider to be ridden over a course of 8-10 fences at 2’3” with higher options. The first round judged on performance, hunter pace, and style, quality and substance, and movement. The course should include at least one in and out, one bending line and one unrelated distance. The obstacles are to simulate those found in a hunt field. Natural obstacles may be used. Riders from the first round will return to jump a handy hunter round which may include at least two of the following: trot jump, tight turn option, clever options for jump ap-proach, halt and/or back and walk jump. To be judged on style, brilliance, and handiness. Judges will adhere to USHJA Hunter Derby rules for scoring. The score will be a total of the two rounds. Entry fee: $50 600. The Pines Hunter Derby. CHJA Rated. This is a two round class with no restriction on horse or rider to be shown over a course of ten fences at (Sec. A) 2’6”' and (Sect. B) 2’9” with higher options. Riders may show hors-es or ponies. Fence height 2’0”. At the same show, horse/rider and pony/rider combinations may not cross enter into Children’s Hunter Horse/Pony, Pony Hunters or any class where fences exceed 2’6”. No combina-tions. PRE-ADULT HUNTER DIVISION Not Rated Open to adult amateur riders. No cross entry of rider in any class where fences exceed 2’6” at the same show. Riders may show horses or ponies. Fences 2’0”. Junior exhibitors 15-17 years of age must be eligible for intermediate equi-tation over fences as of Dec. l of the current show year. Fences not to exceed 2’ for small and medium po-nies 2'6" for large ponies; 3' for horses; spreads not to exceed fence height. Same horse/pony rider combina-tion cannot show in any other rated division except (Children’s Hunter Division continued) equitation or pleas-ure. Horses may be shown by another rider in any other division or section at the same show. Ponies may not cross enter into the Regular Pony Hunter Division. ADULT AMAT. HUNTER DIVISION CHJA, CHSA, NEHC Single classes may be entered. To be ridden by amateurs who are no longer eligible to compete as junior exhibitors. Horses may be shown by a different rider in any other division or class at the same competition. To be judged on performance, soundness, manners, way of going, size of rider to mount and suitability as an Adult Amateur Hunter. Fences 3’ with spreads not to exceed height of fence. Ponies may be ridden by adults, suitability to count. 102, 103, Adult Amateur Hunter O/F 104. $100 Adult Amateur Hunter Stake - $35, $25, $20, $20 107. Adult Amateur Hunter U/S CT TRAINING HUNTER CHJA, CHSA Open to all horses or ponies. No age limitations and no rider restrictions. No restriction of horse/pony/rider into other divisions if otherwise eligible. Same horse/rider combination may not compete in more than one section per show. Long Stirrup Hunter & Equitation Divisions CHSA—Open to riders 18 and over. Fences not to exceed 2’. Riders not eligible to ride in any other classes except pleasure. EQUITATION CLASSES: BEGINNER WALK-TROT EQUITATION CHJA, CHSA, NEHC Riders 10 years of age and under who have not competed in any class requiring them to canter or jump at a recognized show. Riders may not compete in any short stirrup classes. Riders will be asked to walk and trot in both directions of the ring. They will be judged on position and ability to control their mount. Diagonals will be considered. BEGINNER WALK-TROT PLEASURE DIVISION CHJA, CHSA, NEHC Open to all riders 10 years of age and under who have not competed in any class requiring rider to canter or jump. Horses or ponies to walk & trot both directions of the ring. Judged on manners, suitability, perfor-mance. Riders in this division are ineligible for Short Stirrup classes. WALK TROT CANTER OPEN EQUITATION CHSA Open to junior and adult amateur riders who have never competed over fences in a recognized show. To be judged at the walk, trot, & canter both ways of the ring. Riders showing in this division may not compete in any recognized over fence class. Riders may show horses or ponies. A minimum of three classes must be

offered and held in a division to warrant a champion and reserve awarded based on points. Tests 1-5 may be asked at the judge’s discretion.

SHORT STIRRUP EQUITATION DIVISION CHJA, CHSA, NEHC Open to riders 12 years and under who have never competed over fences exceeding 18" at a recognized show. Riders showing in this division may not compete in any other recognized division or recognized class in a show with fences exceeding 18" with the exception of pleasure and pet-type pony clas-ses. SHORT STIRRUP HUNTER DIVISION CHJA, CHSA, NEHC Open to riders 12 years of age and under who have never competed over fence; exceeding l8” in a recog-nized show. Riders competing in this division may not compete in any other recognized division or class in the show where obstacles exceed 18" in height. Course not to exceed eight fences, not to exceed 18". PRE-CHILDREN'S EQUITATION CHSA, CHJA, NEHC Open to junior riders who are eligible for Limit Equitation over fences as of December 1 of the current show year and have never shown over fences exceeding 2'6" at a recognized horse show. Riders may show horses or ponies. At the same show, riders may not cross enter into Children's Equitation, Children's Pony Hunter, Pony Hunters, any Medal Class over 2'0", or any class where fences exceed 2'6". Fence height 2'0". No com-binations MODIFIED ADULT AMATEUR EQUITATION, CHJA, CHSA, NEHC Open to adult amateur riders who, as of Dec. 1 of the current show year, have not shown in classes with fenc-es 3’ or higher at more than three recognized (USEF, CHJA, CHSA, NEHC) horse shows within the past two show years. Riders in this division may not compete in any class at the same show where obstacles exceed 2'6". CHILDREN'S EQUITATION DIVISION CHJA, CHSA, NEHC Open to riders who are eligible for Children's Hunter, have not shown over a course where fences exceeded 3' at a recognized show, and have never shown in the CHJA Junior Medal Finals. Fences for horses and large ponies 2’6” and 2’0” for small/medium ponies JUNIOR EQUITATION DIVISION CHJA, CHSA Open to all Junior riders that have not reached their 18th birthday. Riders cannot cross enter into the Chil-dren's Equitation. Fences not to exceed 3’. ADULT AMATEUR HUNT SEAT EQUITATION CHJA, CHSA, NEHC Open to amateur riders 18 years old and over. Fences to be 2’9” - 3’. MEDAL CLASSES CHJA MEDAL CLASSES Riders must be members of CHJA and present their membership cards to the secretary. The classes consist of two phases, the first phase to be shown over obstacles. The Judge will then select at least six com-petitors, if available, to compete in the second flat phase, each to count 50%. The same horse or pony must be ridden by the same rider in both phases. To fill a class, four members must com-plete both phases of the class. Additional testing may be requested. CHJA Pony Medal Class. Small ponies to jump obstacles 2'0" in height, Medium and Large ponies to jump obstacles 2'6” in height.

CHJA Children's Medal. Open to Junior members of the CHJA who are eligible for Children's Hunter and who have not shown over a course at a Recognized show where fences exceeded 3'. If you have ever quali-fied for or shown in a 3’ Equitation Final, including CHJA, you are not eligible for the Children’s Medal. Fence height 2’6”. CHJA Junior Hunt Seat Medal. Fence height 3’ CHJA Adult Medal. Fence height 3”. CHJA Modified Adult Medal: Fence height 2’6”. CHJA Pre-Children’s Medal: Fence height 2’. MARSHALL & STERLING MEDAL CLASSES Medal classes: Two or more tests of the top four competitors are required. The same horse must be used in all phases. To fill the class three riders must complete the course. The rider must be a member in order for points to count toward qualifying for the Finals. To be show over a minimum of 8 fences. The same horse must be used in all phases. Only one rider per horse. Marshall & Sterling Dover Adult Medal: Fences 3’. May only be combined with the Sore No More Chil-dren’s Medal and M&S Children’s Hunter Pony Medal. Marshall & Sterling Sore No More Children’s Medal: Fences 3’. May only be combined with the Dover Adult Medal and/or Children’s Hunter Pony Medal. Marshall & Sterling 2’6” Children’s Medal: May only be combined with 2’6” Modified Adult Medal. Marshall & Sterling Children’s Pony Medal: May only be combined with Sore No More Children’s Medal and/or Dover Adult Medal. Marshall & Sterling Junior Medal: Fences 3’6”. May not be combined with any other M&S Medals. Marshall & Sterling Jr/Amateur Horsemanship Medal: Fences 3’3”, flat phase required. Change of bridle between phases permissible, running martingales permitted. CHSA MEDAL CLASSES Open to CHSA members and non -members. AT least 3 members must complete the class. The course must contain at least 2 USEF tests 1 -18. Riders may compete in only 1 CHSA Medal class per show. CHSA Modified Adult Medal Class: Fences 2’6” CHSA Short Stirrup Medal Class: X -Rails 18” CHSA Pre -Children’s Medal Class: Fences 2’ CHSA Children’s/Amateur Medal Class —2’3” CHSA Children’s Medal Class—- 2’6” NEHC MEDAL CLASSES Entries must be current members, show proof of membership (current membership card, life membership list, temporary membership card) or fill out an affidavit. NEHC Junior Medal: Open to Junior members of the New England Horsemen’s Council who have not reached their eighteenth birthday. All contestants are required to perform over at least eight fences set to a height from 3' to 3'3" with a combination and two changes of direction after the first obstacle. One or more individual tests of the top four contestants may be requested at the judge’s discretion. (USEF current tests 1-19). To fill a class, at least four competitors must complete the course. NEHC Adult Medal: Open to adult amateur members of the New England Horseman’s Council. All contestants are required to perform over at least eight fences set at a height from 2'9" to 3' with a combination and two changes of direc-

tion after the first obstacle. One or more individual tests of the top four contestants may be requested at the judge’s discretion. (USEF current tests 1-19). To fill a class, at least four competitors must complete the course. PLEASURE CLASSES New England Horsemen’s Council Open Pleasure Horse or Pony. NEHC To be shown at a walk, trot or jog, canter or lope. Loose rein on command of judge only, but without loss of contact. Will be required to back. Shall be judged on manners, performance and quality, in that order. All horses shall be judged on their respective merits regardless of type. HUNTER PLEASURE CHSA, NEHC Open to all horses of a hunter type ordinarily used for pleasure purposes, with no limitations as to status of rider. Walk, trot, canter both ways. Light contact is required. Judged on manners, performance, quality, pres-ence, substance and soundness. JUNIOR EXHIBITOR ENGLISH PLEASURE CHSA To be shown at a walk, trot and canter. Entries may be asked to back and halt. To be judged on manners, performance, suitability. Martingales prohibited. To be ridden on a reasonably loose rein on command. ADULT ENGLISH PLEASURE CHSA To be shown at a walk, trot and canter. Entries may be asked to back and halt. To be judged on manners, performance, suitability. To be ridden on a reasonably loose rein on command. Cynthia Jensen (CHSA) PLEASURE No restrictions on horse or rider. Walk, trot, canter, may be asked to back. Extended gaits may be re-quested. To be ridden with reasonable loose rein on command. Judged on manners, performance and suitability. CHILDREN'S PLEASURE PONY CHSA, NEHC Open to ponies only. To be ridden by Junior riders at walk/trot canter both ways of the ring. QH HUNTER UNDER SADDLE CHSA, NEHC Horses to be shown at a walk, trot, and canter both ways of the ring. Horses should back easily and stand quietly. Horses may change gaits at the walk or the trot at the judge's discretion. Light contact recommend-ed. Horses may be required to hand gallop. Horses must be registered with the AQHA and shown under their full registered name (AQHA/USEF) with papers available. COLOR BREED PLEASURE CHSA, NEHC Open to Palominos, Appaloosas, Buckskins, Paints & Pintos. Judged on best color example of breed. HUNT SEAT LEAD REIN CHJA, CHSA, NEHC Open to children who have not yet reached their 7th birthday as of Dec. 1 of the current show year and have not competed in other than lead rein classes. Judged on hunt seat equitation. Ponies/horses to led by an adult.

RULES AND SPECIFICATIONS ALL CLASSES ARE RUN ACCORDING TO CURRENT USEF, NEHC, CHJA and CHSA SPECIFICATIONS WHERE APPLICABLE 1. Every class offered herein which is recognized by CHJA, NEHC, & CHSA will be conducted and judged in accord-ance with their current rules. In order to compete for Annual Awards in these organizations membership is required. Membership is required to enter CHJA and NEHC Medal classes. Membership forms, rule books and class specifica-tions are available at the Secretary’s Stand and also www.chja.net, www.nehc.info, and chsaonline.com. Points shall accrue upon receipt of the completed membership form and dues by the members show Secretary, or the postmark date of mailed application. 2. Non-showing fee $30.00 for those horse/ponies not shown in horse show plus office fee and applicable warm-up fees. 3. Stabling. All stalls will be on first come, first served basis. The cost is $35 per day. Stalls are permanent in nature and include doors or gates. SHAVINGS NOT INCLUDED. 4. Prize money will be awarded at the Secretary's office following the completion of the division. It is the responsibility of the exhibitor to collect prize monies. 5. The Committee reserves the right to change or vary the courses at their discretion. 6. Warm-Up Classes will be held at the discretion of management, time permitting, at a fee specified in the class de-scriptions. 7. Management reserves the right to cancel, combine or divide classes if warranted. 9. All entry blanks must be signed by the owner. trainer, rider, or parent/guardian prior to numbers being assigned. 10. There will be an Order of Go for all recognized fences classes. 11. Management reserves the right to adjust the time schedule when necessary. 12. During judging, no one other than the rider(s) is allowed in the ring except on official business. 13. Exhibitors must be in proper attire for all classes. 14. Exhibitors are notified that any discourtesy or disobedience to the judges or officials on the part of an owner, rider or groom shall disqualify the horse, and the owner shall forfeit his entry and other fees. 15. A processing fee of $50.00 applies to all non-negotiable checks. 16. All dogs must be leashed. 17. Every animal entered for competition shall be under the control of the Committee, but THE PINES, NEHC, CHJA, and CHSA and will in no way be responsible for any damage that may occur and it shall be a condition of every entry that each exhibitor shall hold THE PINES, CHJA, NEHC and CHSA as well as the Show Committee harmless for any loss or accident which may occur. Should any question or dispute arise, it shall be referred to the Show Committee whose decision shall be final. 18. All exhibitors in the Amateur sections of this show must present their Amateur Certification card before numbers are issued. 19. Measurement Cards. All exhibitors in the Junior/Pony/Children's Hunter Sections must present their Measurement cards at the Show Office before numbers may be picked up. All Junior/Pony/ Children's Hunters that do not have cur-rent measurement cards will be measured. Measurement time and place will be announced. 20. Entries close 48 hours prior to the show. You may enter online or by fax. 21. All classes in rated hunter divisions will be judged on performance and soundness unless otherwise 22. The Pines Farm, CHSA, NEHC & CHJA are released of all liability.
