RESURRECTION-ASCENSION CHURCH, REGO PARK
Dear Friends,
Just so you know, we are planning to open the church for private prayer only this week, starting on Thursday. Look at the special section in today’s bulletin for all the details. Also, we have had trouble
the last few days live streaming our Mass on our Facebook page, or even posting to the page at all. We
are working to fix the problem. If we cannot fix it, we may need to record the video of the Mass, and
then post it later to our website RAChurch.net.
In today’s readings, we hear how "The apostles....went to the upper room where they were staying....All these devoted themselves with one accord to prayer." [Acts 1:12-13] Today’s liturgy places us in-
between the Ascension and Pentecost, along with Mary, the Apostles and other disciples of Jesus.
The disciples do not seem to spend all their time worrying, although the departure of Jesus undoubt-
edly caused them initial concern. They did not spend their time focused on the past, longing for the absent Jesus. They searched their hearts to see where the Risen Jesus would lead them
next! This time of year it would be great for us to enter into the same spirit of reflection before Pente-
cost. Especially as we have not been able to gather in the church during this pandemic, can we take
this time to deepen our appreciation of our faith? We will need to reach out to our sisters and broth-
ers to invite them back to church. Let us pray that the Spirit will teach us how best to reach out. May
we be a people of encouragement, patience, service, charity, mercy and forgiveness. May the Spirit show us the way to better reflect the love of God at work in our world today!
Peace and blessings,
Father Tom ++++
Queridos amigos,
Paz y bendiciones, Padre Tom

Act of Spiritual Communion
My Jesus, I believe that You are present in the
Most Holy Sacrament.
I love You above all things, and I desire to receive
You into my soul.
Since I cannot at this moment receive You sacra-
mentally, come at least spiritually into my heart.
I embrace You as if You were already there and
unite myself wholly to You.
Never permit me to be separated from You.
Oración para la Comunión Espiritual
Creo, Jesús mío, que estás real
y verdaderamente en el cielo
y en el Santísimo Sacramento del Altar.
Te amo sobre todas las cosas
y deseo vivamente recibirte
dentro de mi alma,
pero no pudiendo hacerlo
ahora sacramentalmente, ven al menos
espiritualmente a mi corazón.
