The secret to understanding the BLESSING of God and enjoying the fullness of it is in understanding the nature of God's blessing. It brings clarity, eliminates all mental obstacles and solidifies one's faith in the BLESSING.

1. THE BLESSING is a gift and not merited; though God may pronounce more blessing as the person shows faithfulness and obedience from time to time.

Eph 2:88. For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith--and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—NIV

After Abraham proved to God that he was willing to sacrifice his only son Isaac to God, God pronounced further blessing on him.

Gen 22:16-1816. and said, "I swear by myself, declares the LORD, that because you have done this and have not withheld your son, your only son, 17. I will surely bless you and make your descendants as numerous as the stars in the sky and as the sand on the seashore. Your descendants will take possession of the cities of their enemies, 18. and through

your offspring all nations on earth will be blessed, because you have obeyed me." NIV

2. It is forever. God does not change His mind or alter what His lips have uttered.

Rom 11:2929. For the gifts and calling of God are without repentance.KJV

Eccl 3:1414. I know that, whatsoever God doeth, it shall be forever: nothing can be put to it, nor any thing taken from it: and God doeth it, that men should fear before him.KJV

Ps 89:3434. I will not violate my covenant or alter what my lips have uttered.NIV

3. It is transferable from father to c h i l d a n d f u r t h e r d o w n t h e generational line as long as the family members remain connected and faithful to the covenant with God.

Jacob trickily collected the blessing

meant for the first born at the instigation of his mother from his father Isaac. Once the blessing was transferred, Isaac could not retrieve it and give it to Esaw his eldest son when he realized he has been deceived (Genesis 17). In Genesis 18:1, Isaac calls Jacob and blesses him again and commanded him to go to Paddan Aram to take a wife from his mother's family. In Genesis 49, Israel (Jacob) blesses his own children and Joseph's sons before he passes away.

4. It is a covenant, which God is forever committed to. As long as the blessed and his descendants keep their part of the covenant by faithfully following the Lord, THE BLESSING will continue to bear fruit.

Gen 12:1-41. The LORD had said to Abram, "Leave your country, your people and your father's household and go to the land I will show you. 2. "I will make you into a great nation and I will bless you; I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing. 3. I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you." 4. So Abram left, as the LORD had told him; and Lot went with him. THE NATURE OF GOD'S BLESSING

1. You will always relate to your spouse as you think.2. Your type of dressing determines the type of people that are attracted to you. And

those that are attracted to you make input into your life – they influence you one way or the other. Those attracted to you strengthen a weakness in you or strength.

3. To harbor a rebellious fellow is detrimental to you. You will share in his punishment.

4. To accommodate one you cannot speak into his or her life is stupidity.5. Anyone who cannot listen to you is not worthy to be under your roof.6. Draw a line between love and encouraging one who refused to be disciplined and

grow up.7. The way you dress is the way you will be addressed. 8. People read you by the things you wear. Before they hear you, they read you.

Before they know what is on the inside of you, they see and interpret what they see on the outside.

9. Ability to manage crisis is a sign that one has become a man.10. Your desires determine who your friends will be.11. Lovers don't live in hate and are never afraid of hurts. Love and be loved.12. Those that have respect for God, gets God's respect. When God respects you, all

things work well for you. Please God and he will please you.13. You are more than meets the eye. Who you are is who God says you are and what

you are capable of achieving and becoming. Believe God and not what you see now, and very soon you will become what God sees in you.

Haran. NIV

Gen 17:1-141. When Abram was ninety-nine years old, the LORD appeared to him and said, "I am God Almighty; walk before me and be blameless. 2. I will confirm my covenant between me and you and will greatly increase your numbers. 3. Abram fell facedown, and God said to him, 4. "As for me, this is my covenant with you: You will be the father of many nations. 5. No longer will you be called Abram; your name will be Abraham, for I have made you a father of many nations. 6. I will make you very fruitful; I will make nations of you, and kings will come from you. 7. I will establish my covenant as an everlasting covenant between me and you and your descendants after you for the generations to come, to be your God and the God of your descendants after you. 8. The whole land of Canaan, where you are now an alien, I will give as an everlasting possession to you and your descendants after you; and I will be their God." 9. Then God said to Abraham, "As for you, you must keep my covenant, you and your descendants after you for the generations to come. 10. This is my covenant with you and your descendants after you, the covenant you are to keep: Every male among you shall be circumcised. 11. You are to undergo circumcision, and it will be the sign of the covenant between me and you. 12. For the generations to come every male among you who is eight days old must be circumcised, including those born in your household or bought with money from a foreigner-those who are not your offspring. 13. Whether born in your household or bought with your money, they must be circumcised. My covenant in your flesh is to be an everlasting covenant. 14. Any uncircumcised male, who has not been circumcised in the flesh, will be cut off from his people; he has broken my covenant."NIV

THE BLESSING God pronounced on Abraham and his descendants is still bearing fruit till today.

5. God is committed to it because it is a word of oath that He has given and which He will never turn from.

Gen 22:16-1816. and said, "I swear by myself, declares the LORD, that because you have done this and have not withheld your son, your only son, 17. I will surely bless you and make your descendants as numerous as the stars in the sky and as the sand on the seashore. Your descendants will take possession of the cities of their enemies, 18. and through your offspring all nations on earth will be blessed, because you have obeyed me." NIV

Gen 26:33. Stay in this land for a while, and I will be with you and will bless you. For to you and your descendants I will give all these lands and will confirm the oath I swore to your father Abraham.NIV

Heb 6:16-2016. Men swear by someone greater than themselves, and the oath confirms what is said and puts an end to all argument. 17. Because God wanted to make the unchanging nature of his purpose very clear to the heirs of what was promised, he confirmed it with an oath. 18. God did this so that, by two unchangeable things in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have fled to take hold of the hope offered to us may be greatly encouraged. 19. We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure. It enters the inner sanctuary behind the curtain, 20. where Jesus, who went before us, has entered on our behalf. He has become a high priest forever, in the order of Melchizedek.NIV

6. It never fails to bear fruit.

Ps 145:1313. Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and your dominion endures through all generations. The LORD is faithful to all his promises and loving toward all he has made.NIV

7. The life of Jesus is the blessed life. Therefore, anyone who receives Him has received THE BLESSING – His life is forever blessed because of the life of Jesus in him.

Gal 3:2929. If you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.NIV

8. Ministers of the gospel are commissioned agents of THE BLESSING. The word of God in their mouths, gifts and anointing upon their lives impact, activate, stir, call out the blessing and bring the fruit of THE BLESSING into manifestation in the life of the blessed resulting in healings, miracles, deliverances, breakthroughs, open doors, favour, money and material blessings etc. Receive their pronouncements in faith and act

upon their inspired instructions when given.

Jn 20:2121. Again Jesus said, "Peace be with you! As the Father has sent me, I am sending you." NIV

Acts 10:3838. how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and power, and how he went around doing good and healing all who were under the power of the devil, because God was with him.NIV

Matt 10:4040. "He who receives you receives me, and he who receives me receives the one who sent me.NIV

LK 10:1-121. After this the Lord appointed seventy-two others and sent them two by two ahead of him to every town and place where he was about to go. 2. He told them, "The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field. 3. Go! I am sending you out like lambs among wolves. 4. Do not take a purse or bag or sandals; and do not greet anyone on the road. 5. "When you enter a house, first say, 'Peace to this house.' 6. If a man of peace is there, your peace will rest on him; if not, it will return to you. 7. Stay in that house, eating and drinking whatever they give you, for the worker deserves his wages. Do not move around from house to house. 8. "When you enter a town and are welcomed, eat what is set before you. 9. Heal the sick who are there and tell them, 'The

kingdom of God is near you.' 10. But when you enter a town and are not welcomed, go into its streets and say, 11. 'Even the dust of your town that sticks to our feet we wipe off against you. Yet be sure of this: The kingdom of God is near.' 12. I tell you, it will be more bearable on that day for Sodom than for that town. NIV

9. THE BLESSING is activated each time the blessed acts on the word of God or an instruction from God's mouth either directly or through men and women of God. Faith, love and obedience activate THE BLESSING.

Deut 28:1-21. If you fully obey the LORD your God and carefully follow all his commands I give you today, the LORD your God will set you high above all the nations on earth. 2. All these blessings will come upon you and accompany you if you obey the LORD your God:NIV

Matt 11:28-2928. "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.NIV

Lk 5:4-104. When he had finished speaking, he said to Simon, "Put out into deep water, and let down the nets for a catch." 5. Simon answered, "Master, we've worked hard all night and haven't caught anything. But because you say so, I will let down the nets." 6. When they had done so, they caught such a large number of fish that their nets began to break. 7. So they signaled their partners in the other

boat to come and help them, and they came and filled both boats so full that they began to sink. 8. When Simon Peter saw this, he fell at Jesus' knees and said, "Go away from me, Lord; I am a sinful man!" 9. For he and all his companions were astonished at the catch of fish they had taken, 10. and so were James and John, the sons of Zebedee, Simon's partners. NIV

John 21:66. He told them, "Cast the net on the right side of the boat, and you will find some." So they cast it there, and they were unable to haul it in because of the great number of fish.NIV

Matt14:14-2114. When Jesus landed and saw a large crowd, he had compassion on them and healed their sick. 15. As evening approached, the disciples came to him and said, "This is a remote place, and it's already getting late. Send the crowds away, so they can go to the villages and buy themselves some food." 16. Jesus replied, "They do not need to go away. You give them something to eat." 17. "We have here only five loaves of bread and two fish," they answered. 18. "Bring them here to me," he said. 19. And he directed the people to sit down on the grass. Taking the five loaves and the two fish and looking up to heaven, he gave thanks and broke the loaves. Then he gave them to the disciples, and the disciples gave them to the people. 20. They all ate and were satisfied, and the disciples picked up twelve basketfuls of broken pieces that were left over. 21. The number of those who ate was about five thousand men, besides women and children.NIV

Matt 17:24-2724. After Jesus and his disciples arrived in Capernaum, the collectors of the two-drachma tax came to Peter and asked, "Doesn't your teacher pay the temple tax?" 25. "Yes, he does," he replied. When Peter came into the house, Jesus was the first to speak. "What do you think, Simon?" he asked. "From whom do the kings of the earth collect duty and taxes--from their own sons or from others?" 26. "From others," Peter answered. 27. "Then the sons are exempt," Jesus said to him. "But so that we may not offend them, go to the lake and throw out your line. Take the first fish you catch; open its mouth and you will find a four-drachma coin. Take it and give it to them for my tax and yours."

1. Do you know why God gives us visions of what we will become tomorrow? Because He wants us to be tomorrow thinkers. Focus on your future. Keep your eyes on where you are going. Keep seeing your destination, and soon you will be there. Do not let today's happenings to distract and discourage you. You are on a mission, and you will accomplish it soon with God's help. 2. When you are down, pray that God will restore unto you the joy of salvation. Joy is a giver of strength. Joy is medicine to the body - it enhances your health, while depression kills it. Joy is contagious - it can easily make another that is down to become cheerful. It is with Joy that we draw life, blessings and favor from the well of salvation. Keep away from sin, it will fill you with guilt. Be free from sin, anger, bitterness and resentment, worry and anxiety, fear and unbelief. Protect your joy by keeping your thoughts positive always. 3. Everybody wants the desires of their heart granted, but not many wants to delight themselves in the Lord. To delight yourself in the Lord is to love God with all your heart and strive to please Him in all things and at all times. When doing God's will and pleasing Him becomes your way of life, God will grant your desires that agree with His will for you.4. The thoughts of the mind and the words we speak shape our lives and create our experiences. God reckons with our thoughts and relates with us based on the state of our minds. The words of our mouth always come back to us. Therefore it is proper for us to continually depend on God through prayer to help us guard our thoughts and words so we can always please God and honour Him with our lives and continue to experience His wonders and blessings here on earth.
