PROGRESS REPORTS

The new interactive lake model has arrived! The cabinet is being built, and the software and other steps necessary to make it interactive are underway. A heartfelt thanks to all of the generous donors who made this model possible.

The back walls of the expansion buildings are now painted. Matthew Marshall (top of ladder,) Doug Bloodgood (in creek) and Jeremy Marshall (supervising,) working for Steve Byrne Painting, met the challenge of a tight work space by putting their ladder in the creek to reach parts of the building. And they finished before the weather got too bad.

PaversYou can still order pavers for the front entranceway. Two sizes are available: 4”x8” for $125, or 8”x8”

for $200. They make a thoughtful gift in someone’s honor or memory. Forms are available at the Museum at The Creamery, or call us at 685-1360 and we’ll send you one.

From the Gift Shop

Our Gift Shop is ready for the holidays. The shelves are stocked with Skaneateles-themed books, note cards, prints, glasses, and afghans. We are featuring three new items this year:

We have three adorable Gund bears that are just right for someone’s special Christmas stocking. Blue and grey stoneware crocks, handmade at Westerwald Pottery in Pennsylvania, are available in two sizes: 6”h x 4”w, or 4”h x 6”w. And our annual Christmas ornament features the iconic teasel on a cream-colored background.

We also have some past years’ ornaments available: the Lightning sailboat from last year, and the Sherwood Inn from 2010.

Our popular sets of 4 highball glasses etched with a Lightning boat or teasel are very popular and boxed ready for this holiday season. Trivets with the Historical Society logo are great for entertaining and easy to mail as gifts.

Our boats afghans and village buildings afghans are beautiful in Colonial Red, Williamsburg Blue and Hunter Green and a nice addition to any décor. We also have burgundy pillows, with the Village Gazebo on them, which make great gifts for family and friends.  And when we’re not open you can buy our afghans and pillows at First National Gifts on Genesee St. (profits still go to the SHS.)

Please remember that gift shop sales are one of the main sources of revenue for our day-to-day operations. Thank you for your generous support.
