Welcome to Term 3 ☺
What a term it has been!! Wow!! I don’t have the words to describe what this term has been like, but I think you’ll all agree that it is time for all of us to have a break from it!!
Your children have worked incredibly hard on their learning from home, then at school one day
per week, and then at school full time. They have shown resilience beyond their years and I am so proud of them all. Standing beside our students are you, their families and I know that they are
so lucky to have you supporting them. Standing beside me, I have the most incredible teaching staff, support staff and administration
staff. Together, we have experienced 6 months of our career like no other. They too have shown exceptional resilience and experienced an
unimaginable workload, to deliver the best education we could to our students during this challenging time. I would like to thank my staff for going above and beyond to support our
students.
I want to wish all of our families a safe and happy holiday period. Keep up your good hygiene, social distance and read, read, read ☺
COVID-19 Restriction Update Thank you to all of our families who continue to support the health and safety of our community
by adhering to not only the Government restrictions, but also the restrictions in place for our school setting.
For the remainder of this term we will continue our structured gate drop-off and pick-up. I will advise as soon as I can what this looks like for Term 3.
If your child is displaying any signs of being sick, please do not send them to school. Any child
who presents with cold symptoms such as a runny nose, cough or a fever will be sent home. If any member of our community, whether it be a
child or adult, is undergoing testing for COVID, we are requesting that you notify us via the school email. This will enable us to maximise the

safety of our students and staff who are immuno-compromised. As of this week, we are allowed to hold
assemblies for up to 15 minutes, with NO external visitors. This is exciting for our students and means that we will be able to hold some very quick award assemblies only.
There are some school activities that will resume as of Term 3. All others not listed will not
recommence until further notice. Activities beginning as of Term 3 are:
• Band (Tuesday)
• Hip Hop (Wednesday)
• Choir
• Dance Fever lessons (Thursday)
• Scripture & Ethics (Friday)
Reports Due to COVID and the period of home-learning, Semester 1 reports will be released later and will
have a different format. Reports will be sent home by the end of Week 2 in Term 3. While they will report on each Key Learning Area, there will
be no grades. Instead each report will discuss content covered in each area of English, Mathematics, HSIE, Science & Technology, PDHPE and Creative Arts with learning goals set
for the areas of English and Mathematics. Nationally Consistent Collection of Data
(NCCD) Every year, all schools in Australia participate in the Nationally Consistent Collection of Data on School Students with Disability (NCCD). The
NCCD process requires schools to identify information already available in the school about supports provided to students with disability. These relate to legislative requirements under
the Disability Discrimination Act 1992 and the Disability Standards for Education 2005, in line with the NCCD guidelines (2019).
The NCCD will have no direct impact on your child and your child will not be involved in any testing process. The school will provide data to
the Australian Government in such a way that no individual student will be able to be identified – the privacy and confidentiality of all students is
ensured. All information is protected by privacy laws that regulate the collection, storage and disclosure of personal information.

Kindergarten 2021 We are so excited to start the enrolment process for Kindergarten 2021!! We are currently accepting applications for enrolment NOW. This
year our school has moved to an online enrolment system for in-area enrolments that is designed to make enrolment easier for parents. To enrol your child, please go to the following
link: https://enrol.education.nsw.gov.au/#/?schoolCode=3020&catchmentLevel=primary
We receive a notification once you have submitted the application and our friendly office staff will be in contact to finalise your child’s
enrolment. Any child seeking an out-of-area placement needs to contact the out-of-area
school directly.
School Tours for 2021
COVID-19 has certainly put a spanner in the works for our school tours, but fear not, they will go ahead!! We just need to wait until we get
clearance. We can’t wait to welcome prospective families to show you our beautiful school. Please keep an eye out for this information. Please note, these school tours are in addition to our
Transition and Orientation Program.

Phase 3 Gate Rules
I know this is a challenging time, but if we stick together, work together and practice kindness, we will learn much more than we ever knew about our strength from within. At Rydalmere
PS, we don’t enrol children, we enrol families – you all become a part of our ‘village’. To my RPS Village – I am with you and our staff are with you ☺
