taL AM VisitorOur first graders were presented their new TaL AM books by none other than Ari, the TaL AM lion (looking very much like Hebrew Language & Literature Chairperson Ayala Zeev) and Morah Ayala Koplowich. TaL AM has been extended into fourth grade, giving our students an articulated, continuous sequence of immersion Hebrew language study.

Sixth grader Lexi Lehrman has made the news again! Lexi’s incredible commitment to fund raising for breast cancer research has reached the folks at CNN. You can read (and view) all about Lexi at http://ypwr.blogs.cnn.com/ 2009/07/27/lexi-lehrman/

Summer Science Science Specialist Louise Enea attended an invitation-only meeting at Fairfield Tropical Gardens last month. The meeting, arranged by CAJE exclusively for Jewish day schools in Miami, was an opportunity to learn more about the exciting Fairchild Challenge, sponsored by Fairchild Tropical Gardens. The Challenge, an environmental outreach program, offers middle and high school students the opportunity to learn through an integrated curriculum of language arts, art, science, social studies, and Jewish studies.

Ms. Enea with fellow participants from Beth David Gordon Schools and Hillel Community Day School.
