I've got bumps, dents, and scratches in my finish and my paint job is getting a little dull, but that's not the worst of it. My headlights are out of focus and it's especially hard to see things up close. My traction is not as graceful as it once was. I slip and slide and skid and bump into things even in the best of weather. My whitewalls are stained with varicose veins. It takes me hours to reach my maximum speed. My fuel rate burns inefficiently. But here's the worst of it — Almost every time I sneeze, cough or sputter... either my radiator leaks or my exhaust backfires. Independence Day July 4th has been a federal holiday in the United States since 1941, but the tradition of Independence Day celebrations goes back to the 18th century and the American Revolution. In June 1776, representatives of the 13 colonies declared their independence from Great Britain, while fighting in the revolution. On July 2nd, the Continental Congress voted in favor of the independence and 2 days later its delegates adopted the Declaration of Independence, which was drafted by Thomas Jefferson. July 4th has been celebrated as the birth of American Independence with festivities ranging from fireworks, parades, concerts, BBQ’s, and picnics. Finally, the boy replied, "That preacher said he wanted us brought up in a Christian home, and I wanted to stay with you guys." One particular 4-year-old prayed, "And forgive us our trash baskets as we forgive those who put trash in our baskets." A Sunday school teacher asked her children as they were on the way to church service, "And why is it necessary to be quiet in church?" One bright little girl replied, "Because people are sleeping." We want to remember to ank God for our wonderful country and our freedoms. ese did not come without sacrifices from many! Happy 4th of July!

What You Need 1 pkg. (1 lb. 2 oz.) Oreo cookies, divided1/4 cup (1/2 stick) butter, melted4 pkg. (8 oz. each) cream cheese, softened1 cup sugar

1 tsp. vanilla1 cup sour cream4 eggs

Make ItPREHEAT oven to 325˚F if using a silver 9-inch springform pan (or to 300˚F if using a dark nonstick 9-inch springform pan). Place 30 of the cookies in resealable plastic bag. Flatten bag to remove excess air, then seal bag. Finely crush cookies by rolling a rolling pin across the bag. Place in bowl. Add butter; mix well. Press firmly onto bottom of pan.BEAT cream cheese, sugar and vanilla in large bowl with electric mixer on medium speed until well blended. Add sour cream; mix well. Add eggs, 1 at a time, beating just until blended after each addition. Chop or crush remaining cookies. Gently stir 1-1/2 cups of the chopped cookies into cream cheese batter. Pour over crust; sprinkle with the remaining chopped cookies.BAKE 1 hour and 10 min. or until center is almost set. Cool. Refrigerate 3 hours or overnight. Cut into 16 pieces. Store leftover cheesecake in refrigerator.
