A RailBus connection is available from Charleville to Cunnamulla and Quilpie.

Soak up the history and heritage in the township of
Charleville.
• Visit the Charleville’s Cosmos Centre and view the

struggle to ensure the survival of this iconic little
Australian at the Bilby Experience.
• Take a ‘Scones & Stories’ tour at historic Hotel
Corones.
• Step back in time at the Historic House, filled with a
historic collection include working gramophones,
clothing and tools from the town and surrounding
stations. The machinery collection includes a Dennis
Fire Engine, Rail Ambulance, and a replica Cobb & Co
Coach.

Roma offers a touch of cosmopolitan lifestyle, with a
relaxed country charm.
• Take a walk along the heritage-listed Heroes' Avenue,
which is planted with more than 100 bottle trees. Each
tree is a memorial to a local soldier who lost their life
in WW1.
• Get a taste of the outback at the southern
hemisphere's largest sale yards.
• Visit the Big Rig Oil and Gas Interpretative Centre and
Night Show for an interactive insight into the local oil
drilling and exploration.
• Head to the Mount Abundance Homestead, built in
1860, and the site of the region's first settlement.
• Join a local tour to explore the hidden wonders and
secluded gorges of the nearby Carnarvon Ranges,
Aboriginal rock art, dinosaur plants, and enchanting
wildlife.

Cunnamulla
A town rich in history, heritage and natural wonders and
the Cunnamulla Fella, who sits proudly on his pedestal
and welcomes visitors to the area.
Stay at local farm stay, visit a date farm and winery and
relax in the therapetic in an artesian mud bath.
Quilpie
Home to “The Jewel of the Outback”, the beautiful boulder
opal. Visit the literal “End of the Railway Line”, the old
Powerhouse Museum and the Mini Museum at the airport,
dedicated to the old woolscour and the unexpected
landing of Amy Johnson.
Those ready for action can spend the day fossicking for
opals, climb and explore Baldy Top and Table Top Lookout
or go four wheel driving through the endless landscape
that is Australia’s Outback.
