It is very important to understand this to use infinitive of purpose.
I study hard because I want to ace the exam.
Using “to”o I study hard to ace the exam
Alternatively:o I study hard in order to ace the exam.
Take out “because”and the second subject and want, need, etc.
I come to class because I need to learn English
She got a better job because she needs to keep up with the bills
The got married because they want to have children
Our teacher goes hiking because he loves to stay fit.
We came to America because we needed to escape tyranny.
*Note* That’s only when the second subject
(dependent clause) is the same at the first subject.

Example: What do I do? I go to the beach.
Why? (For what purpose?) To cool off.
“I go to the beach to cool off.”
Replace “because” with “to + verb(remember to take out second subject and want to, need to)
1. I went to the café because I wanted to meet my friends.
2. She went to bed at 8 PM because she needed to get up early
3. She dresses well because she wants to impress people
4. He works overtime because he wants to have a bigger pay check.
5. We are taking a training class because we need to get a certificate.
