Sheriff mayface civilrights charge
Attorney Elizabeth Simpson of Albuquerque has announced that a suit will be filed in federal court within thenext few days charging LincolnCounty Sheriff Don Samuelswith civil rights violations.
Simpson said that the coreof the suit will be the civilrights violations with a requestfor damages. Plaintiffs in thesuil will be Jimmy Luna,Orlando Montes, Ron Harrisonand Lerry Bond.

'Ambassador' Pattersonspeaks to Woman's Club
SAND WAS removed from the bottom of the Carrizozo water storage tank on Jan. 20. Thesand was a result of bUlld~up from the wells through the years. The Carrizozo VolunteerFire Department flushed out the tank and It was sanitized prior to being refilled. Helpingwith the task were city crews and representatives from the New Mexico Rural Water Associa·tlon. Mayor Bob Hemphill took his turn at wielding a shovel to remove the sand.
