The Importance of Time Management in a Students Life.

A very good morning to the teachers, honourable judges, all my friends and

fellow audiences. Well! It is a very great pleasure for me in this precious moment, to

deliver my speech to the audiences entitled The Importance of Time anagement ina tudent"s #ife$. %opefully all of you will enjoy it.

As we all &now, time is actually priceless and time is very important because

each individual has only twenty'four hours per day( which is irreplaceable. )y using

the time as best as possible is considered as the best way to manage the time. Time

management is different for each person because of the different activities. *or

e+ample, an employees primary duty is to wor& in a company while for a student, is

in school. *or students, time management is very necessary and important as to

ma&e sure that they can divide their job well and do not waste their time without

&nowing.

Time management means proper allocation of time that a persons daily

activities can be done well and not distracted or may be referred to as the efficient

allocation of time. owadays, we often hear news about students slipping into

disobedience or drug abuse. This is because students are easily influenced by bad

elements. tudents involved in these activities are actually, those who

cannot manage time efficiently, thus, they often waste time with futile. Therefore,effective time management is very important in the life of a student.

*irstly, as a student, he or she must give priority to the education in the

school, by studying and doing school wor& either at home or in library. Thus, the first

step to effectively managing the time, is that the students are encouraged to learn

scheduling. o, the students can ma&e a timetable on when to study and doing

school wor& since this will certainly help them to become smarter students. %owever,

there are also students who did provide themselves personal study timetable, but did

not follow. They need to follow the scheduled study time as it can help the students

manage their time efficiently( so that they have sufficient time to review the

comprehensive study and prepare for e+ams. This can prevent students from lac&ing

of time to review the lesson when the e+am is near. tudents who succeed, usually

made up of students who ma&e the initial setup, as the saying goes better to be safe

than sorry$. %owever, students who do not ma&e good preparations, will definitely

cannot review all the topics before the e+am. Therefore, a well'organi/ed time

management is vital to give enough time to the students as to ma&e early

preparations.

In addition, a good time management will also let the students to actively

participate in curricular activities without affecting their learning. As a student, the 01

hours a day provided is used not only to complete school tas&s but he or she must

also participate in curricular activities which have been planned earlier by the school.

o, if the student is able to manage his time effectively, he or she can achieve agood performance not only in academics but also e+cellent in curricular activities.

Active involvement in curricular activities nowadays is important for the students in

order to get more 2credit" in entering tertiary level of education.

%owever, if a student is not able to manage his or her time wisely, he or she

will find it difficult to find the right time between studying and outdoor activities

involvement. They will not pay attention to the lessons in school besides not having

enough time to complete all tas&s and homewor& that had been given by teachers.

Thus, this affects students performance in the field of education that could lead to a

failure in the e+amination. %ence, good time management will balance the

2involvement" of the students so that they can become successful students.


)esides, the time available can also be used for other activities that are

beneficial and let time pass you by usefully. Indeed, time is invaluable and time that

is wasted definitely irreplaceable. Therefore, the invaluable time must be managed

efficiently. *or e+ample, you can use your free time by doing some useful activities

such as reading novels, reading scientific maga/ines, helping parents at home anddoing some recreational activities. )y reading scientific maga/ines, students not only

use their time worthwhile, but can also increase their &nowledge. )esides, the

e+ercises will also help the students to practice a healthier lifestyle. Thus, this shows

that time management actually brings many benefits to students.

As a student, being a disciplined person is really an important factor in order

to become a successful person. Whether we reali/e or not, effective time

management can also promote responsibility among the students in which will be

able to discipline themselves. This is because, students would have the opportunity

to be independent in managing their own time. tudents who have created their own

timetable will do their best to follow the schedule as they &now that they have

actually managed and allocated the time effectively. Through this way, the students

can practice discipline and lead to a more meaningful life. tudents who have these

admirable 3ualities will be respected by the community especially their friends and

teachers in school.


oreover, students should also remember that they have to allocate their timewith their families. Therefore, when the students are able to manage time efficiently,

they will get to spend 3uality time with their families. Thus, students will not

only have enough time to prepare for e+am, do their interests but also have time to

carry out leisure activities along with families li&e a wor&out, a wal&, watch television

and so on. This type of students who are able to spend time together with the family

will develop a sense of love and belonging among the members of the family. They

can share their daily life activities through the conversation with family in which

parents are actually feel happy if their children are still communicate and interact

with them even though their children have reached the age of adolescence. This is

because, they are the ones who have been there for us, the students( providing

moral support, whenever the students are having difficulties. The relationships

between family members will surely become closer and better. A good family

relationship will also affect students" achievement in their studies. %ence, effective

time management is essential in creating supportive environment for the students to

learn better.

)esides that, the students are also advised to use the holiday for beneficial

activities. This free time can be used by students to improve on what is still lac&ing in

their studies. tudents can do e+tra e+ercises and group discussion for their studies,

find e+tra information in the library or attend tuition classes. These efforts need to be

done by the students if they are willing to wor& hard in order to achieve success

because if there is will, there is a way. All these can only be done if the students

&now how to manage time effectively.


4n the whole, time management is very important for each individual because

it allows us to use the time wisely. A good, organi/ed and well planned time

management will surely bring the benefits for the students. 5et, management of time

without a proper guidance would complicate the daily life of a student. *or that

reason, as students, we not only need to be successful in our studies but we also

need to be successful in sports, e+tra'curricular activities and religion. Therefore, we

have to manage our time properly so daily activities can be carried out effectively

and in turn, producing students who are e+cellent in all areas in line with 6ision

0707. We are the new generation of the developed world, therefore, by affectively

utili/ing the time, we can accomplish a lot( even dare to face the challenges and

obstacles of life!
