We have a group of very talented athletes who were allowed to shine in front of the whole school. Days like this just don’t happen. The sportsmanship and high rates of parcipaon are a real indicator as to the long- term success of Mr Mulcahy’s Physical Educaon program. He runs a very posive and inclusive program that enables children of all ages and abilies to have personal success. It is very evident which children have been involved in the program over a number of years by their conduct on the day. They need lile to no supervision and they willingly tackle each acvity with a big smile, win or lose. I’m sure that Mr Mulcahy would also say that the support he receives from Mr Donnelly and the rest of the staff also plays a big part in the success of the program. Well done to everyone involved. School Uniform Banksia Grove Primary takes a great deal of pride in our uniform. It is wonderful at our assemblies to look out and see all the students wearing either a school or facon shirt. With winter here, I would like to remind all families of our expectaons regarding what children need to wear. Whenever possible, it would be ideal if a child was to wear the whole school uniform; however, we understand that somemes that this can’t happen because a jumper, jacket or pants may be wet, in the wash or even lost (please write their name on all clothing). On these occasions we would prefer the child to wear something that is either plain black or navy blue so that it blends in with our uniform. Clothing that has bright colours such as pinks, oranges or are mul-coloured are not suitable as a replacement for our uniform. Just as board-shorts and denim are not suitable replacements for our school shorts. Year 6 students need to be especially mindful of this as most high schools have a very strict uniform code that will be enforced. Leaving the School Site in the aſternoons Judy, our head cleaner, has the responsibility of locking and unlocking our school gates. In the aſternoons, she will be doing this at about 3:50pm. If you choose to stay for longer on the school site for a play, then you may need to use the front gate as an exit. The Grove 23

School Faction Carnival

What a fantastic day we had for our School Faction Carnival. Thanks to those parents who came and cheered on their children through the team games and sprints. The Carnival was a huge success as it enabled both participation and competition between the children. We have a group of very talented athletes who were allowed to shine in front of the whole school.

Days like this just don’t happen. The sportsmanship and high rates of participation are a real indicator as to the long-term success of Mr Mulcahy’s Physical Education program. He runs a very positive and inclusive program that enables children of all ages and abilities to have personal success. It is very evident which children have been involved in the program over a number of years by their conduct on the day. They need little to no supervision and they willingly tackle each activity with a big smile, win or lose. I’m sure that Mr Mulcahy would also say that the support he receives from Mr Donnelly and the rest of the staff also plays a big part in the success of the program. Well done to everyone involved.

School Uniform

Banksia Grove Primary takes a great deal of pride in our uniform. It is wonderful at our assemblies to look out and see all the students wearing either a school or faction shirt. With winter here, I would like to remind all families of our expectations regarding what children need to wear.

Whenever possible, it would be ideal if a child was to wear the whole school uniform; however, we understand that sometimes that this can’t happen because a jumper, jacket or pants may be wet, in the wash or even lost (please write their name on all clothing). On these occasions we would prefer the child to wear something that is either plain black or navy blue so that it blends in with our uniform.

Clothing that has bright colours such as pinks, oranges or are multi-coloured are not suitable as a replacement for our uniform. Just as board-shorts and denim are not suitable replacements for our school shorts.

Year 6 students need to be especially mindful of this as most high schools have a very strict uniform code that will be enforced.

Leaving the School Site in the afternoons

Judy, our head cleaner, has the responsibility of locking and unlocking our school gates. In the afternoons, she will be doing this at about 3:50pm. If you choose to stay for longer on the school site for a play, then you may need to use the front gate as an exit.

School Crossing Audit

The school has been advised that the City of Wanneroo will be doing an audit of our Joondalup Drive School Crossing to see if it is being used properly by our school community. Given the importance of having this safe crossing, if your child is supposed to use it to get to school, please reinforce the need to use it over the coming weeks.

Congratulations!

The school would like to congratulate Kayla Oruc in Kindy for her very special award from the City of Wanneroo for her amazing logo design for the Wanneroo and Surrounds Early Years network.

Kayla’s logo was chosen from many entries and shows everyone in her picture looking happy and healthy which was perfect for the network’s purpose within the City of Wanneroo.
