Message from our Presidents
Dear Grape Stompers,
Hard to believe summer is already here. Time goes by much too quickly. Besides school graduations, family vacations and trips to the beach, don’t forget about spending time with your friends at the Grape Stompers.
We have such a wonderful group of people in this club. Club members, who are supportive of our danc-
es and available to help with whatever is needed. Students in our class, who are smil-ing and eager to learn the next call. An instructor, who is energetic, patient and sings great. Board members, who help with the many decisions and operations that keep the club running smoothly. Visitors, who come from miles away to have fun at our dances.
We are proud to be part of this team. Thank you all.

Please let Jean know if any of our fellow dancers are in need of cheering up or have some happy news to share with our club members.
Frank Bezzina ~ passed away.He was a long time friend of the Grape Stompers and will be missed.
Rosary services will be held at Sun Meadows Club House in Sun City on June 13th at noon for anyone wishing to pay their respects. You can call Linda at 951-672-2498 for details on the church service in Huntington Beach or if you have any other questions.
Visitation Pot Drawing
Due to the timing of our visitations, we had two drawings at our May dance. Unfortunately, nei-ther LINDA WARNER nor AGNES GAERTNER whose names were drawn, were eligible to win. The pot increases by another $ 5.00 bringing it up to $40. Be sure to come to our next vis-itation, June 12th, at the Whirlaways/Sandpipers joint dance. You might be the next BIG winner.
“ Date Night Dance”
Besides our monthly Club dance and our visitation dance, we are promoting one additional square dance each month for our members to enjoy. We call it our “Date Night Dance”. The location will vary and we will visit other clubs to seek out fun and interesting callers. Carpool, come when you can, and enjoy dancing with your friends. Another way to get in some more dance time. This month, our date is at Rancho Cucamonga BnBs on the 5th of June. See the monthly calendar for details.
Board Meetings
Board meetings are usually held on the 2nd Thursday of the month. There is a change this month! We are moving the meeting back a week! All members are welcome.
The June Board Meeting will be held on:June 18th at 7:00pm ~ Walter & Sandy’s home

Sheriff Fund
Every class night, our new sheriff and deputy, John & Linda Boman , will be collecting “fines”. The funds go to our end of year party and dance.
Class Manager
Your Class Manager is Brian Tisdale. If you have any questions about class, give him a call, 951-440-7495, or send him an email, [email protected].
His job is to make sure you are having fun and learning. As you’ve already no-ticed, he might move people out of one square and put them in another. This is
to balance out the squares with students and angels.
Monthly Event
All students are wecome to special event activities. This month is the March Air Field Museum. See page 6 for details.
As soon as we get you up to PLUS level, we will get you out to the other dances!
Here are a few random tips for making your dancing experience enjoyable!
• Once a tip is underway, refrain from talking. It is frequently difficult to hear and your talking may very well prevent someone else from hearing a call. It is also extremely rude to talk while announcements are being made. Try to quiet anyone speaking to you. Give the speaker the same consideration you would want if you were speaking.
• Gents hold your hands palm up and ladies hold you hand palm down.• Form your squares promptly, and welcome anyone who joins the set. Introduce yourself before the calls start.• Never walk through a square or leave a square. Join the nearest square that is forming.
“Yellow Rock” (hug your corner) or “Red Rock” (hug your partner) are common
signals to square dancers.
“Hugging is a miracle medicine that can relieve many physical and emotional prob-lems”.
“Have you hugged somebody today?”
We received a nice message from George Biggs. He has moved back to Colorado for the summer. Here is his message:
I would like to thank all members who helped me re-learn Sq Dancing ! Great group of people. See you in the fall ! George
A special drawing was held last month for the first 9 weeks of perfect attendance.
The winner was PAM PUTERBAUGH.
She won a free admittance to class!
