On behalf of the Australian College of Critical Care Nurses (ACCCN) ICE2018 organising committee we have great pleasure inviting you to participate as a sponsor of the 19th Institute of Continuing Education (ICE) meeting to be held on June 21-22, 2018 at the Hilton Hotel in Sydney NSW.

The theme for 2018 ‘The Future is Critical’ embodies the changing paradigms of clinical intensive care practice. Prior to 2005, the intensive care patient was confined to bed, in an induced coma and tethered by multiple lines. Today we can expect to see critically ill patients awake, out of bed and perhaps walking. Many widespread clinical practices have been, and are being, openly challenged through research, often lead by nurse researchers. Additionally, the ICU team now encompasses a broader membership to acknowledge the significant contributions by all healthcare professional groups.

The Programme of this two day conference has been designed to present current and future clinical practices and intensive care structural changes so that delegates will leave better prepared for imminent challenges. The programme will continue the highly successful structure of two concurrent lecture streams alongside a concurrent workshop stream. Additionally breakfast sessions will also be available. Planning for the programme is well under way and we have locked in a number of leading Australian nurse, allied health researchers and clinicians. These include;

• Adjunct Professor Kylie Ward, CEO Australian College of Nursing, RN, MMgt, Dip App Sci (Nursing), Acute Care Cert., FACN, Wharton Fellow, MAICD

• Professor Tracey Bucknall, Professor & Associate Head of School (Research) , School of Nursing & Midwifery, Deakin University

• Associate Professor Glenn Eastwood, ICU Research Manager - Austin Health

• Dr Kimberley Haines, Victorian Vice-Chair Australia and New Zealand Intensive Care Society (ANZICS), ICU Physiotherapist, Western Health

• Dr Amanda Ullman, Paediatric Nurse Researcher and Senior Lecturer, Griffith University

• Mr Rand Butcher, CNC eHealth NSW, Co-Chair eRIC Working Party & ACCCN CEO

• Dr Lucy Coupland, Researcher, Australian National University

• Mr Brad Ceely, Clinical Program Director: Medical Services Children’s Hospital Westmead, NP PICU

• Ms Margaret Nicholson, NP ICU, Liverpool Hospital

Participation at the 2018 trade exhibition will provide your team with unparalleled access to key decision makers including leading NSW clinicians, managers, and bedside clinicians; this will enable your company to showcase current and future products and services that will potentially improve the care of the critically ill patient. Through the workshop stream we also offer the opportunity for our trade partners to have closer contact with participants.

We thank you for considering partnering with ACCCN at ICE2018 and look forward to meeting your team at the Hilton Hotel on June 21-22, 2018. If you require further information please do not hesitate to contact the Conference Manager Kassandra Koudelka, or alternatively, we would be happy to discuss your company’s support and involvement in this conference.

Yours sincerely

Dr Kaye Rolls Ms Kate Leutert
