Bulletin for November 2017
November, 2017
Dear Parish Family,
As we approach the month of November and the Thanksgiving holiday, I always consider
the whole month to be a month of gratitude and thanksgiving. I am very grateful to Heidi
Scott, Roylene See, Darlene See, and Kathy Cota for putting together a beautiful All Soul’s
Mass, remembering our loved ones who have passed.
Every year, as we gather to celebrate Thanksgiving, our Parish has a special dinner for
those less fortunate. We are always in need of items. Please pick up a flyer in the back of
the church. Perhaps, this Thanksgiving, you and your family can get involved, whether it
be donating food, money, or coming to help serve. This year the dinner will be held on
Monday, November 20th. Beginning November 11th, you can sign up outside of mass to
bring food or to help serve.
I want to thank in a special way Brad and Kelly Giggy for chairing our Angel Basket for
the past fifteen years. They will be handing off the baton to Tim and Cheyanne
Antongiovanni. After Thanksgiving, on November 26th, our giving trees will go up for the
Annual Jason Ariey Memorial Christmas Drive. Jason was the son of Randy and Denise,
and along with his brothers, they began our Christmas Drive and created our Monday
Night dinner to what it is today. Please take an ornament off the trees and return them to
the Church office to be a part of bringing Christ to those in need this Christmas season.
One of the things I am most grateful for of our Parish is the spirit of generosity, in which
people continue to help us live out the mission of St. Francis of Assisi to care for the poor.
Wishing all of you a happy and blessed Thanksgiving.
Blessings,
The Month dedicated to the poor souls in purgatory

.Anointing of the Sick
Offered each first Friday after the Noon Mass in the Church. Next anointing offered will be Friday, December 1st, 2017. Call the Parish Office for more information at 661-327-4734

Youth Ministry needs your help!
We have more than 200 students enrolled in our Confirmation
programs, many who need partial scholarships to cover the
retreat fees. If you are able to help, we are currently in need of
at least $100 scholarships for 25 students. This is 1/3 of their
cost and will greatly help families in need. Retreats are our
most impactful part of our ministry, and we don’t want to turn
any teen away due to financial hardship.
To make a donation, please contact Youth Minister,
Eileen Perez in the parish office.
Other Youth Ministry Needs:
-We need fleece! Our Edge students are making tie blankets
for the homeless this winter season. Please make donations in
exact 2 yard pieces. Thank you!
-Snack donations: We try to keep snacks filled in our Youth
Ministry pantry to feed our hungry teens every week. We are
currently in need of large cans of nacho cheese, individual
bags of chips, and any other pre-packaged drinks or snack
items that have a longer shelf life.
Please drop any donations off at the front office with a note
for Youth Ministry.
Thank you!
FINANCIAL PEACE—SMART MONEY EVENT
Millions of people have found the freedom that getting out of
debt can bring to their lives. Whether it’s credit cards, student
loans, or even your mortgage, being free of debt gives you the
opportunity to give more of your time and your talents than
you ever have before. Our church wants that financial peace
for all of you. So we’re planning something special here on
the evening of November 7th. That evening, you’re welcome
to join us at the parish hall for a live stream of one of Dave
Ramsey’s events, Smart Money. It’s completely free, you just
have to sign up! Doors open at 4:45 and the event runs 5-8
p.m. Please go to our website to register
ASAP since space is limited.
For more information, please contact Eileen Perez
in the parish office.
The Parish Offices will be closed Friday,
November 10th for Veteran’s Day.
GOD BLESS OUR TROOPS
The Little Flower’s Thanksgiving Dinner
The Little Flower Society is looking forward to this year’s Monday night Thanksgiving Dinner on

and sisters in the community. Below is a list of items we need:
Large Cans of Green Bean/Corn, Instant Mashed Potatoes, Boxed Stuffing and
Small-sized Toiletries (Shampoos, soaps, conditioner, lotion, toothbrush/toothpaste)
At a later time, we will be asking for Cooked Turkeys, Cooked Hams, Green
Salad, Rolls and Pies.
Volunteer signups will be outside of masses the weekend of November 11th and 12th.
For any further questions, please feel free to email: [email protected] Thank you and God Bless
