Human Rights and the Environment

All humans depend on a safe, clean, and healthy environment. Without a healthy environment in which to live, humans are

unable to fulfill their hopes and dreams and live a life of pride and dignity. Conversely, the protection of human rights also helps protect the environment. When people are empowered to learn and participate in decision making, they are able to

ensure the decisions made help protect and sustain their physical environments.
