SILVERSPOON BOUTIQUEOur cover was shot on location at a gorgeous, recently opened café and boutique at Th e Junction in Newcastle. We chose this location with divine marble fi replaces, ornate black wrought-iron chandeliers and tone-on-tone fl ock wallpaper as the perfect backdrop for a new take on modern country.

Store owner Caitlin Pomroy hand-picks luxurious homewares and white-washed furniture pieces, as well as specialising in children’s clothing and bedding – all with a simple country charm. In addition, she has set up a glorious outdoor courtyard dining area, where a selection of afternoon-tea delights are served so her clientele are happy to stay and relax while soaking up the unique atmosphere.

Colour CodeFor a romantic but bold look, we love dusty pinks, metallic greys and gloss black to give a modern, feminine feel. Tone-on-tone fl ock wallpapers add tactile interest without being overbearing in pattern. This scheme balances the depth of a black feature wall with the contrast of pure white furniture and a whitewashed fl oor and ceiling to keep light bouncing around so the space doesn’t feel dark. The backdrop wallpapers are Taillandier col Noir (black) and Unique (grey-white), both from Urban Basics Design Studio.
