WE HAVE LOTS TO CELEBRATE!
We are in a party mood these days! Next month will be the Diablo Mustang Association’s 40th anniversary!
WOO HOO!. Not a lot of clubs can say that and we can be very proud of our organization that we are still
attracting Mustang owners —old and young— that want to hang out with other Mustang lovers. We’ve cer-
tainly had our ups and downs and occasional changes but mostly we’ve remained an organization that puts
an emphasis on having fun with our cars and each other.
Celebration number 1 will be the election and induction of our 2019-2020 club officers. Whomever you vote
into office this month will be installed in September. Many of the names you will recognize from the past but
some of our newer members are stepping up to the plate and volunteering their time and energy as well.
Yaayy! It’s so good to see some new blood in the mix. PLEASE fill out your voting form and bring it to the
September meeting o mail it in ASAP so we can announce the winners at that meeting. We also can vote at
the September meeting. So mail-in, email or voting in person are all acceptable and we want you to partici-
pate. So please take the time to do one of these options.
Celebration number 2 is the club’s 40th Anniversary. So with both of these occasions on the calendar we’ve
decided to combine them both with a special day on Sunday, August 22 that includes a visit to the Black-
hawk Auto Museum and lunch afterwards at the Blackhawk Grill that is within walking distance of the muse-
um. We are reaching out to current and past members who may have pictures and or memories of those early
years especially. It will be a trip down memory lane for a lot of you, for sure. We have yet to confirm times
and those kind of details but we will be letting you know very soon. Join us, won’t you, for a very special
day!
Bobby wins again at Ponies and Snakes 2019 Congrats!

————————————————————————————————————————————————————
We have lots of exciting things happening this month. We are celebrating 40 years as Diablo Valley Mus-
tang Association. Since this is a special occasion , we are planning a tour of Blackhawk Auto Museum and
a lunch to follow. This will also be our official Officer Installation as well and we need your votes via
mail, email or on-site voting at the meeting on September 11.
Want a little blast from the past? Well, Anne and I will be leading a tour on Saturday September 24 start-
ing at the Country Waffles parking lot in Clayton to the Reiff’s Gas Station Museum in Woodland, just
south of Sacramento. This place is amazing with antiques and collections of all types relating to automo-
bile culture. This will be a guided tour by the owner of the museum, Mark Reiff, who is reportedly quite a
storyteller. If you plan to come please let us know in advance either by signing up in the Tour Book at the
next meeting or let us know by phone, email or text that you are coming. We need a head count for the tour. After the tour we will
go for lunch in Woodland and then take a backroads tour around Lake Berryessa and then home. Should be a fun day.
As of this month we will be voting for our club officers for next year and hope you will take the time to cast your vote either by
mailing in the form in this newsletter, emailing it in or casting your ballot at the September club meeting.
Always remember to read your newsletter as it has all the info you need to stay up on DVMA happenings!
