Fall Festival — October 24 — 2-4pm
Trunk or Treat Free Train Rides
Inflatables
Games and Prizes
Lots of Candy
We anticipate hundreds of children at this year’s Fall Festival. If this happens,
we need your help. Here is a partial list of what we need. . . .
Automobiles to use for our “Trunk or Treat” — we supply the candy, you
supply the decorated trunk.
Helpers to supervise the inflatables and to run the parking lot games.
Greeters to register ALL the children and adults, and to give out armbands
which allow the children to collect candy and play the games.
Set up and clean up helpers.
Welcomers to walk around in the crowd to make sure everyone is having a
great time.
There will be a sign up form in the bulletin if you would be willing to help
make this a wonderful day. Don’t forget. . . .we need thousands of pieces of
individually wrapped candy. Please place your candy donations in the big
blue buckets.
Parking Lot
Expansion
Is Underway
The dirt work on our new
parking plot has begun. The
new parking lot will give us
room to park an additional 90
cars. The projected date of
completion is in November. The cost is just over $150,000, but it will be money
well spent to keep us from having to
shuttle people from the soccer fields.
One question we are constantly
asked. . . .Are we going to get a
second entrance onto Highway 305?
The answer sadly is, NO not at this
time. We need a second entrance, but
we cannot afford the additional cost
at present. Please be patient a bit
longer.

A WORD FROM. . .
OUR PASTOR
Our church year has just ended. Tracy gave me a
copy of the report we send the Southern Baptist
headquarters in Nashville. I thought I would share
a few of the details with you.
Total Church Membership: 995
Additions by Letter/Statement: 130
Baptisms: 31
Worship Average Attendance: 554
Sunday School Attendance: 332
Total Receipts: $1,386,338
Total Missions Giving: $ 122,247
God is doing such an exciting work here at
LaBelle. Every day seems to bring a new miracle
of His handiwork. As you know we voted to begin
a new 3 year capital stewardship campaign. The
title of our new campaign will be “The Miracle
Continues. . . .Linking Hearts and Hands.” I love
this title. If there was one word which could
summarize what God has done in our church over
these past 5 years, it would be “miracle.” I hope
you will join me in praying for those miracles to
never stop.
Our Mid-South Association will be holding it’s
annual meeting of all the churches on Monday,
October 19, beginning at 6pm. This year we are
taking a bold step. For the first time we are holding
this meeting at a black church. It will be at
Monument of Love Baptist Church at 2639 Lamar
Avenue (just north of I-240 on Lamar.) I have
been asked to preach the annual sermon that night.
I want to invite my LaBelle family to come to the
meeting, and support me in delivering this sermon.
It always helps to have a few friendly faces in the
crowd.
Music Ministry By: Rev. Ken Washburn, Min. of Music & Sr. Adults
Sr. Adult Ministries - Our J.O.Y. Choir is scheduled to sing for the residents of LifePointe Village (2782 Star Landing Rd.) at 10:30 am, on TUESDAY, October 13th. After singing with the residents, we will go to eat lunch together. We need all of our members and would love to have guests join us for this ministry opportunity.
Our next PRIMETIMER’S fellowship will be Thursday, October 22 at 11:30 am. We will have Bro. Alan Sumner, Associate Pastor of Mullins Station
Baptist Church as our musical guest. The church will provide the meat and we are asking our members to supply side dishes, salads and desserts. Please join us and invite guests for this great time of fellowship.

Pastor Pals — We all know that Bro. Jim is our Pastor, but he also wants the children to know he
is also their pal. October begins with Pastor Pals. Every week we need parents to make sure their children are present in church service and help them complete their outlines. We want the children to learn that listening and taking notes in the service helps them grow as Christians. Each week we will have a different (simplified) outline for the children to complete. They will have to turn it into Mrs. Debbie each week after the service, with their name on it. When they turn it in, they will receive a small gift for the week. The children that complete all 4 weeks in the month will earn a BIG prize. This year it is a special “Pastor Pal’s” sweat shirt. Parents please help your children out and have them in service. This is the rule that can’t be bent or broken. They MUST be present and complete the outlines all 4 weeks to get the sweatshirt. NO EXCEPTIONS! I know the children will have a great time with this and will learn so much.
Operation Christmas Child... ... begins October 25th.
Collection date is November 15th. Boxes are ordered and should be here soon.
This year the “Fall Festival” will be on Saturday, October
24th, from 2-4 in the afternoon. I need a lot of help with
games, inflatables, Trunk-R-Treat, registration table,
security and most of all lots of CANDY! The blue buckets are now out
and ready to be filled. Be watching for the sign up sheet in Sunday’s
bulletin. Thank you in advance for all your willingness to serve.
We have begun preparations for our Christmas musical “Light of the World” that will be presented Sunday, December 13th. Written by Carol Cymbala, Director of the Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir, this musical celebrates the Christmas story with a great mix of familiar and new songs that encourage us to worship He who is truly THE LIGHT. Now would be a perfect time to join us. There are no auditions and you do not have to be a soloist. We are looking for people who love singing and enjoy great fellowship. We look forward to filling our choir loft to capacity!
We invite you to come give us a try this
Wednesday after Bible study.
Music Ministry
Deacon Selection Begins October 11 From October 11-25, our LaBelle members have the
opportunity to select men to serve on our 2016 Active
Deacon Body. You may nominate/vote for up to 5
men by filling out the deacon nomination form which
will be in the bulletins October 11, 18 and 25. You
may only turn in one form, so please do not turn in
one each week. Do not nominate men who are
currently serving.

th. There are only 250
tickets available, so don’t wait until the last minute to get yours. This event is a great opportunity for you to invite your friends to attend and introduce them to LaBelle Haven. Come and join us for this exciting event, and bring a friend with you. All proceeds go to support the annual Wild Game Dinner. While this event is sponsored by the Men’s Ministry, ladies and children are welcome to come fellowship with us.
Burial Plots Still Available I know when it comes to death, we only like to consider the reward of heaven and spending eternal life with our Lord and Savior. However, we also need to plan for what will happen here on this earth when we die. Do you have your burial plots purchased already? If not, LaBelle Haven has been given 2 plots in the beautiful Autumn Woods Cemetery in Olive Branch, MS. (just south of Goodman Road on Davidson Road). This is for 2 plots, a 48 x 16 memorial with vase, and the opening and closings. These plots are valued at over $3,600 but we will consider any reasonable offer. If you are interested, please contact Bro. Phil Anderson at 662-893-2273 asap.

Church-Wide 50th Wedding Celebration Valentine’s Day next year falls on
Sunday. We want to make this
Valentine’s Day one you will never
forget. . . .so, Bro. Jim is planning a
church-wide 50th wedding anniversary
celebration. All couples (members or
guests) who will be married at least 50
years by February 14, 2016 are invited to participate.
There will be a wedding reception at noon on Saturday,
February 13. Couples are urged to
bring their wedding photos. A meal
will be served, and a wedding cake
will be there for dessert. Prizes will
be given to the couples who have
been married the longest and the
couple with the most romantic story
as to how they met and married.
On Sunday, February 14, there
will be a marriage renewal service. Couples will walk
down the isle to the wedding march song. They will be
introduced individually. Their wedding day picture will be
put on the big screens as they enter. Once all the couples
have entered, Bro. Jim will lead them in renewing their
vows. For some of the couples this may be their first
“church” wedding. Each couple will receive a renewal
certificate and some other secret surprises.
Because it will take months to plan this service. . . we
ask that our couples sign up by November 15 if they
wish to participate. This will give us the time to get
everything in order for our “celebration of marriage”
weekend on February 13 & 14, 2016.
