Will it be December 21, 2012?

The End of the WorldWill it end December 21, 2012?Maybe…the start of the end.

Some say because the Mayan Calendar ends on Dec. 21, 2012, that all life will cease to exist on that day. “The world will end!”

The End of the WorldWhat’s so special about Dec. 21, 2012?

• The Winter Solstice (shortest day of the year).• The Sun conjuncts at the intersection of the Milky Way axis and the ecliptic (the track of the Sun, Moon, planets and stars as they appear to travel in the sky, from east to west). • The Sun intersects the Milky Way at a 60 degree angle near the constellation Sagittarius. • The Sun has not conjoined the Milky Way and the plane of the ecliptic since some 25,800 years ago.
