My dear parishioners, This Thursday (Aug. 15th) is the Solemnity of the As-sumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary and a Holy Day of Obliga-tion. At all the Masses for the Holy Day, I plan to renew publicly our three parishes’ consecration to Mary’s Immaculate Heart. Be-low is the consecration prayer we will use at the Holy Day Mass-es. I encourage you to hold on to this bulletin and bring it with you to Mass on the Holy Day so that you can pray it aloud with me. It is my prayer and sincere hope that this renewal of our par-ishes’ act of consecration to Our Lady’s Immaculate Heart will bear abundant spiritual fruit in our parishes for this coming year. Immaculate Heart of Mary, pray for us. Fr. Draper
Prayer of Consecration to the Blessed Virgin Mary O Most Holy Trinity: Our Father in Heaven, You chose Mary as the fairest of Your daughters; Holy Spirit, You chose Mary as Your spouse; God the Son, You chose Mary as Your Mother; in union with Mary, we adore Your majesty and acknowledge Your su-preme, eternal dominion and authority. Most Holy Trinity, we place St. Patrick, St. Mary, and St. Flannen parishes into the hands of Mary Immaculate, conceived without sin, in order that she may present the peoples of these parishes to you. O Blessed Virgin Mary, Queen of Heaven and earth, refuge of sin-ners and our most loving Mother, God has willed to entrust the entire order of mercy to you. We humbly cast ourselves at your feet, consecrating to your Immaculate Heart all the people of St. Patrick, St. Mary, and St. Flannen parishes. Protect the bishop of this diocese and all the clergy and religious. Wrap all the families of these parishes in your motherly mantle. Draw forth the pre-cious gift of many vocations to the priesthood and religious life. Look after sinners, the sick, the poor, the tempted and upon all who are in need of your intercession. O Mary, Queen of the Holy Rosary, we ask that you would draw all of us closer to your Son’s Heart in His Eucharistic Heart. Through your merciful intercession may we all become docile instruments in leading strayed and indifferent souls to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Help us extend as far as possible the blessed reign of your Son. For wherever you enter, you obtain grace of conver-sion and growth in holiness, since it is through your hands that all graces come to us from the most Sacred Heart of Jesus. O Mary, conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to thee!
