• BA seminars (medieval – Latin and German paleography, modern – Polish, German, Rus’ paleography)
• Courses in Archival studies (changes incommunication and data preservation)
Students’ projects during paleography and neography courses, BA seminars
After finishing beginners’ level in reading charters and manuscripts (30h) students have to prove their ablity to use their knowledge and competences for research or professional, archival work. They choose a charter or pages from manscripts from collections at web-sites (szukajwarchiwach.pl, monasterium.net), prepare their editions with short information about the specific source material
Students’ projects during MA study
At the MA studies with professionalspecialisation ‘Archival studies and data menagment’ students may use digitizedmaterial during courses
• ‘Historical sources publishing’ (both analog and digital material is allowed and used),
• ‘Archival studies workshops’ – individualprojects or group co-operation, mostly makingorder in virtual collections and preparing themfor – virtual - editions.
Using digitized materials in education - aims
• Making courses more attractive for students
• Get students know how to use open (digital) world of knowledge for improving theirposition on job market
• Arouse a desire to create and share theircreation results with open world (seminars –special projects (gallery of students-during-courses art.), but also wikipedia entries)
Archival studies workshops for students
Examples of projects focused on digitization or Web 2.0 :
• Digitization and preparation for didactics tablesand collections of prof. Leo Santifaller and Karol Maleczyński,
• Working with matrix of monasterium.net and withchoosen collections (virtual editions mostly, for internal use)
