Stream Sports and Arts Stream Needs of the Locality/Community

Core Subjects: English, Filipino , Math ,Science, and P.E offered during the SY plus other subjects including electives across streams on the First Year of implementation. Social Science will be integrated in the Core Subjects and Electives where found relevant.

Grades 11 & 12 Proposed Curriculum Design

1. The Program of Study for Grades 11&12 shall follow the program format implemented at the High School . Subjects are offered on a school year basis. Classes start in June and end in March/April. Credit units shall be assigned per

subject. 2. The Program of Study offers a menu of Core Subjects, Electives and Apprenticeship. 2.1 Core Subjects shall include English, Filipino, Math, Science, and P.E. The Core

Subjects are considered as tools for learning. These subjects shall develop the general skills of the students. Social Science will be integrated in the Core Subjects and Electives where found relevant.

2.2 Electives are offered in Grades 11 and 12. The students are given the option to select their electives. The Electives lead to the development of the students’ interests/aptitudes/ specializations on the different tracks/streams/strands: academic, tech-voc skills, sports and arts, and local/community needs-based.

2.3 In general, Apprenticeship is offered on the last two(2)

grading periods of Grade 12. The “hands-on” exposure will introduce the students to the actual world of work.

2.4 Nihonggo/Fookien are foreign languages made optional. 2.5 Youth Development Program (YDP) will be offered in

Grade 11.8

3. The instructional delivery caters to a variety of teaching pedagogies/approaches/techniques with the use of e-

processes considering the characteristics of learners today.

4. The Program of Study for each year level is competency-based. Certificates are awarded on either of the following periods: end of the year/grading period/two years. The Senior High School Diploma shall be awarded at the end of Grade 12 .

5. TESDA Certificates: NCI, NCII, NCIII, NCIV will be issued to the students where applicable.

English 5 Language Arts This course is designed to develop the students’ language proficiency in communication, grammar and language use, and literature within specific context crucial for responsible citizenship, for a fulfilling cultural life, and for economic productivity.

Filipino 5 Akademikong Filipino sa Wika at Panitikan

Ang kursong ito ay metalinggiwistik na pag-aaral sa gamit ng akademikong Filipino sa iba’t ibang sitwasyon at larangan. Sa paraang interdisiplinaryo at interaktibo, inaasahang mauunawaan at malilinang sa mga estudyante ang mga kailangang kaalaman sa paggamit ng Filipino sa lalong mataas na edukasyon. Ito rin ay pagpapalawak ng mga kaalaman sa Panitikang Filipino.

Science 5 Biological and Health Science

The course aims to provide the general concepts and principles pertaining to Biological Science. It includes the basic biological organization of living things including their morphological structure, composition, characteristics, functions and classification. This also includes the discussion on evolution of life as well as their role in the

maintenance of ecosystem.

Math 5 Algebra with Statistics This course covers real number system, algebraic and rational expression, linear equations, exponents, and radicals, quadratic equation inequalities and word problems. It also includes basic statistical concepts and essentials in data analysis. Topics for discussion include collection, presentation and analysis of empirical data with emphasis on the applications of descriptive statistic to real-life situations. Descriptive numerical measures such as measures of central tendency, measures of position, and measures of variation will be discussed through problem solving. It also introduces the normal distribution, simple correlation and linear regression which are essential in understanding basic ideas of statistical inference.

P.E.5 Physical Fitness with Rhythmic Activities

This subject aims to enhance the student’s knowledge, attitudes, skills in developing personalized exercise programs. This will give the students the idea of the various forms of exercise provided to develop health -related fitness. A well- planned and purposeful activities that will encourage the student to create and formulate movements in different forms of physical exercise. Basic nutrition and stress management is also described in this subject to see the relationship of a health and wellness that will promote lifelong habits for mental and physical well-being and practice good lifestyle.

Y.D.P. 5 Youth Development Program

Is a learning programme that incorporates both theoretical learning and practical experience, leading to the development of the youth in all aspect of human life; physical, mental, social, spiritual, cultural and political dimension integrating the concept of civic education and good citizenship values as enshrined in the Preamble of the 1987 Constitution provided in the NSTP Act of 2001. It aimed at giving relevant skills to Senior High School students’ experiential learning as part of the academic requirement.

It also includes basic statistical concepts and essentials in data analysis. Topics for discussion include collection, presentation and analysis of empirical data with emphasis on the applications of descriptive statistic to real-

life situations. Descriptive numerical measures such as measures of central tendency, measures of position, and measures of variation will be discussed through problem solving. It also introduces the normal distribution, simple correlation and linear regression which are essential in understanding basic ideas of statistical inference.

This subject aims to enhance the student’s knowledge, attitudes, skills in developing personalized exercise programs. This will give the students the idea of the various forms of exercise provided to develop health -related fitness. A well- planned and purposeful activities that will encourage the student to create and formulate movements in different forms of physical exercise. Basic nutrition and stress management is also described in this subject to see the relationship of a health and wellness that will promote lifelong habits for mental and physical well-being and practice good lifestyle.

BUS ED-E Entrepreneurship The course takes the students through the step-by step processes of establishing an enterprise with some vicariousexperiences of running it. The students actually do searching, screening and selecting for opportunities that they will decide to adopt for their business venture. The various tools and topics of management including the interrelationships of each department are explained as they affect the different areas of concern in building course objectives. The course will enable the student to evaluate his or her own desires and prospects for a career as an entrepreneur. The course will cover the features of a feasibility study and a business plan including marketing, operations, personnel and financial plans. A comprehensive marketing and operation plans of a particular project shall be expected as a major output required by the course

BUS ED- M Marketing A general course in marketing theory and methods. Among topics discussed are the importance of marketing, the interrelationship of the different phases of marketing such as product, place, price, and promotion, the differences between the marketing of goods and services, wholesaling, retailing, pricing strategies, analysis of markets, and distribution.

The subject covers familiarization of students on the skills and techniques of an effective salesperson. CCS – DD 101 Digital Design Digital Design is project based course that introduces students to the basic of graphic design, web design and animation using the adobe creative suite web premium software. Students will use adobe photoshop, adobe illustrator, adobe fireworks to create graphic designs use adobe dreamweaver to build a digital portfolio to be published on the web and use adobe flash to create animated and interactive projects.

CCS – CAD 101 Computer Added Design In the CADD program, students begin with instruction and experience in basic drawing theory and techniques before moving into the study of the phases of drafting work—architectural, mechanical, electronic, pipe, computer assisted design and drafting, surveying and civil drafting.

CCS - FD 101 Freehand Drawing This course teaches the fundamentals drawing including materials, methods, form and composition. Students work on a variety of paper sizes and graphite, ink, and charcoal. Initial exercises will concentrate on still life and interiors, and will later move on to landscape drawing.

It also includes basic statistical concepts and essentials in data analysis. Topics for discussion include collection, presentation and analysis of empirical data with emphasis on the applications of descriptive statistic to real-

life situations. Descriptive numerical measures such as measures of central tendency, measures of position, and measures of variation will be discussed through problem solving. It also introduces the normal distribution, simple correlation and linear regression which are essential in understanding basic ideas of statistical inference.

This subject aims to enhance the student’s knowledge, attitudes, skills in developing personalized exercise programs. This will give the students the idea of the various forms of exercise provided to develop health -related fitness. Basic nutrition and stress management is also described in this subject to see the relationship of a health and wellness that will promote lifelong habits for mental and physical well-being and practice good lifestyle.

This course explores the dynamics of youth involvement in politics, mediated through new media: text message(made more colorful by ubiquitous of “jejemon” language), Facebook, Twitter, Youtube, and other forms of media. Although the course avowedly takes the position that citizenship entails rights coupled with responsibilities, it does so not by preaching a stringent menu of “what to do’s”, but taking the students to an enjoyable journey of social involvement that allows them “learn by doing.”As an example, course requirements include the production of materials (posters, jingles, or audio video presentations) that support a certain advocacy.
