drifters) to replace OWS fleet• Drifter data quality, quantity and timeliness all poor

• reasons not clear• drifter reputation in severe decline

• Oceanographers do not put drifter data on GTS• Recommendations and resolutions passed:

• Absolutely no effect on the data!!• Raise funds to appoint Technical Co-ordinator
