With the theme “CCT Graduates: Continuing Journey towards Excellence”, the City College of Tagaytay held its 14th commencement exercises at Sigtuna Hall,Tagaytay International Convention Center (TICC) as a celebration of Free Education grants to 613 Tagaytay and Cavite 8th district youths.
The grateful graduates with their proud parents and relatives marched to a joyful tune of success on the blissful May 21, 2019 afternoon with high hopes that the diplomas they were to receive is a proof of attaining knowledge, skills and character that will serve as their passport to finding stable jobs.
Like any other graduation ceremonies, this momentous celebration was well- attended by the faculty, administration staff, city officials and the city mayor. The highlight of the occasion was the message from the guest speaker who herself is a loving mom, public servant, and dentist, Hon. Mayor Agnes D. Tolentino of Tagaytay City.
This year’s theme is a manifestation that the CCT is continuously moving forward to a higher level of awareness and participation. President Pacita Rosario Z. Aquino headed the awarding of medals to the 19 graduates who were recipients of Academic Silver Medal Achievement Award partitioned into 12 BSE, six BSBA and one BSIT as magna cum laude while the Academic Bronze Medal Achievement Award were given to five BSE and four BSBA graduates as cum laude.
Mr. John David Pelaez delivered his message by discussing how he coped with the encountered difficulties in life and highlighted his visions and expectations that guided him to achieve the distinction as magna cum laude with highest honors.
By this, everybody especially the batch of graduates, felt the essence of striving hard and the power of prayers plus the importance of upholding integrity.
The School of Physical Education, Recreation and Sports is merged with the School of Arts and Sciences and will still be headed by Dean Segundo Sim.
The office of the Gender and Development transferred to one of the fabricated rooms in the Office of the School of Student Affairs.
The current OIC of the School of Hospitality and Tourism Management is Ms.Loreta B. Madrilejos
The CCT extends its sympathy and condolences to the family of Mrs. Hazel Garcia, Director for Registration and Admission, for the death of her father, retired 2nd Lt. Donato Mojica, last July 21, 2019.
The Office of the registrar has already registered 1142 enrollees and set a quota
of 1174 freshmen applicants as of July 22, 2019. According to Mr. J.M. Alcala,
there were 1658 applicants who took computerized entrance exam while Mr.
Arbid Amiscosa reported that _____ manually took the entrance exam.
Despite high number of enrollees, each school indicated limitation in the
number of sections per program due to shortage of classroom, laboratory and
faculty members. Full time faculty members are commonly given 45 hours
teaching load per week to cater to the needs of the program. At 35 students per
section, the SBM will have six (6) sections each for BSBA, major in MM and
HRDM, and two (2) sections for Office administration; the School of Computer
Science will have two (2) sections for Computer Science and six (6) sections for
Information Technology; the School of Education have only one (1) section for
BSE Math major and two (2) sections each for majors in Filipino, English and
Social Sciences.
