• The Choctaw Tribe lived in villages, small corn fields, and houses.

• The Choctaw women wore wrap around skirts made of deer skin or woven fiber.

• The Choctaw men wore breechcloths.

• Both Choctaw men and women wore poncho-style capes in cold weather.

Food

• The Choctaw Indians ate corn, beans, squash, melons, and sunflower seeds.

• The Choctaw Indians got their food by farming and hunting.

Jobs

• The Choctaw boys hunted and fished with their fathers. But all Choctaw children helped around the house.

• The Choctaw women had to be farmers, took care of children, and helped around the house.

• Men had to hunt and sometimes went to war to protect their families.

Games

• Teen age boys played Toli a lacrosse-like stick ball game, and girls played with beaded dolls. Choctaw kids also played Chunkey, foot ball, swimming, and foot races.
