What does God want fromWhat does God want fromWhat does God want fromWhat does God want from

Today is the Sunday of the Publican

and the PhariseeYou know, the day

we hear the Gospel reading about the two

men who went into the temple to pray.

One of them talked to God, bragging and full

of pride. The other one would not even lift uphis eyes to heaven but he said God be merci-

    ful to me, a sinner!

As Christians, we want to be like the publican,

the one who was humble, the one who knewhe

wasnt perfect, the one who knewhe made lots

    of mistakes.

Not too long ago, a saintly and very humble man

lived in Greece. His name was Elder Paisios. Lots of people knman, so they would ask him for advice. They wanted to know

come holy, too! Elder Paisios would always tell people how im

be humblelike the man in the Gospel today.

The only thing Christ is asking us is our humility. The rest is

His grace. That means that all we have to do is try to be hum

can be humble, God will take care of everything else. God doeinto Princeton. God doesn't ask us to win a gold medal in the

asks us to be humble. God will help us with everything else!
