The trivia teams of the Baltimore Clavins (pictured, top left), the Fighting Trudeaus(pictured, bottom left), and the Cognitively Impaired (pictured, bottom right) meet onThursday, December 15, 2016 for a friendly challenge. The Baltimore Clavinscame in first place and consisted of Jeff Hawk and Drs. Vinney Conroy, Roy Film,and Christa Nelson. The second place team, the Cognitively Impaired, consistedof Dylan Dunne and Drs. Karen Gordes, Linda Horn, and Sandy McCombeWaller. The Fighting Trudeaus came in third place and included teammates Vicki& Rick Gray, Aynsley Hamel, Andrew Horn, and Monica Martinez.

Chris Wells, PhD, PT, CCS, ATC, Clinical Associate Professor was a reviewerfor Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Physical Therapy Journal for the article "PhysicalTherapists' Clinical Reasoning and DecisionMaking Processes when MobilizingPatients who are Critically Ill: A Qualitative Study for the Cardiopulmonary PhysicalTherapy Journal". She also reviewed the manuscript, "Physical Activity, SedentaryTime, and its Associated Factors in Recipients of Solid Organ Transplantation" forPTJ.
Malawi Visitor George Chimatiro, faculty member from the Medical Rehabilitation College inMalawi wrapped up his visit to the United States with an inner city outreachproject. George and Dr. Leslie Glickman conducted a session with the students atSouthwest Charter School on Herkimer Street (Pigtown) on December 15, 2016.The purposes were to introduce them to the role of a physical therapist, highlightdevices used by physical therapists that tie into their current learning topic onSimple Tools, and talk about George's background and culture. Many of thestudents experienced physical therapy as former patients or by observing familymembers participating in various related activities. They were shown graphicsand had fun experiencing use of a wheelchair, walker, & quad cane, with an initialdiscussion about levers, pulleys, wheels, axles, inclines, all components of these devices. The sessionended with George teaching the students a song, dance, and phrases in Chichewa (the Malawi dialect).
