Prairie Rose hosts Brunsville Junior Masters The Junior Golf of Northwest Iowa tour made a stop at Prairie Rose Golf Club for the Brunsville Masters Junior Classic on Tuesday, July 21. Golfers ranging in age from 5 to 17 competed, with the Brunsville stop producing the first playoff of the four-stop swing between Kiera Dreckman and Mya Bickford. The two played extra holes after a scorecard playoff system produced a tie. Bickford came out on top with a large gallery watching the playoff. Also, Ian Grossman recorded two birdies in a row, including No. 7, which is the No. 1 handicap hole at Prairie Rose. Drake Brownmiller made a birdie on No. 2 and Aiden Truesdale birdied No. 6. Jacoby VanBoven, who is just 5 years old, made a birdie on the sixth hole. Junior Golf of Northwest Iowa holds regular camps every Thursday at Willow Creek in Le Mars. The next stop on the tournament trail will be Willow Creek on July 28. Entries are being accepted for the final tourney of the season at Landsmeer Golf Club in Orange City on Thursday, August 6. To enter, email [email protected] or call 817-938-6065.
