The Blair Witch Project is a 1999 American release footage belonging to three students who disappeared while hiking in the Black Hills Forest in 1994, they set out to film a documentary about a local legend known as the Blair Witch. Although their footage and other equipments was found was found a year later, the three students were never seen or heard from again. The film gained positive comments from critics and grossed over $248 million worldwide. The Blair Witch Project is a very appealing independent film as it differs from the typical genre of Horror genre as many of the convention used in a horror film wasn’t used such as blood, murder and also there was no additional music to make it a scary movie. However the setting was of woodland, dark isolated area where most shots were handheld which is very effective as the viewers feel as if they are a part of it. Being based on a real life story makes it even more consistent and more positively approached by the audience

Is a science-fiction horror which refer to aggressive creatures that create a chaos for spaceship crew members. It shares similar association with Michael Myers in Halloween with the hidden identity and brutality. It’s said to used less dialogue and more suspenseful and tension filled moments with its very slow pace editing which is very interesting to observe every small details.

There were many distressing scene of gore as it used the stereotypical horror convention such as the isolated setting of the spaceship. In horror films the final girl us usually given a unisex name which represents her strong side to fight till the end destroying the evil. In alien, Ripley was the final girl which is in all horror films but only the intelligent and the innocent one is to survive which is the ‘rule
