CRe aTinG a new way of livinG Set around a new landscaped public piazza and with walkways on the riverbank, Kew Bridge enhances its unique location as a vibrant place for relaxing and socialising. S.U.D.S, or the Sustainable Urban Drainage System is part of thespecificationatKewBridge.Allsurfacewaterisdrainedinto the river, reducing the pressure put on sewage systems. Dealing with storm water at source rather than diverting it into over-burdened sewers provides a more natural solution, helpingreducefloodingandpollution.

maKinG The RiGhT ConneCTions Kew is well connected with Kew Bridge station on the doorstep and both Overground and Underground trains available at nearby Gunnersbury. But for an even more sustainable way to travel, walking and biking are healthy alternatives - especially when the Thames Path provides a great way to discover London.

As part of the Section 106 agreement, (a legal agreement between the Planning Authority and the developer) St George West London Ltd has made a contribution to The London Borough of Hounslow towards a Car Club which will have two dedicated spaces located at the Thameside Centre. The Car Club willbeforthebenefitofallthoselivinginandaround Kew Bridge and will be set up by the Council.

GeT on youR biKeThere will be over 600 bicycle spaces which can be stored safely and securely, with 2 available cycle spaces per home provided at Kew Bridge to allow residents the opportunity to ride along the banks of the River Thames from their own doorstep.

The London Borough of Hounslow is part of a London-wide ‘Car2Bike’ initiative, covering 13 “biking boroughs”. It is the latest in a campaign to secure a 400 per cent increase in cycling by 2026.

benefiTTinG fRom eneRGy effiCienCyApartments at Kew Bridge are designed to be veryefficientintheuseofenergy.Heatingtothe development will be provided from a central energy centre. Heat will be generated by a combination of gas boilers, a gas combined heat and power (CHP) engine and a biomass boiler.

Using a renewable energy source will help meet targets for carbon dioxide reduction, whileacentralboilerincreasesefficiency.

Asyourhomeisdesignedtobeefficientinitsuseofenergy, it has a lower impact on climate change than

the average household in the UK. The carbon dioxide emissions from lighting, heating and providing hot water in your home could be around 76% lower, saving around 4.6 tonnes in carbon emissions per year.*

Apartmentswillbeprovidedwithunderfloorheatingfrom the central boiler, with individual control provided by thermostats and programmers.

Heat meters will be linked to the management officetoenablebillingofindividualapartments.

The Code foR susTainable homesAllapartmentsatKewBridgearecertifiedtoLevel3oftheCodeforSustainable Homes.

The Code for Sustainable Homes is the Government’s national standard for the sustainable design and construction of new homes. The overall sustainability performance of the home is rated using a one to six star system where one star is the lowest level of performance and six stars is the highest.

To achieve a Level 3 rating, a home must perform better than a new home built to the minimum legal standards, and much better than an average existing home.

As part of the compliance with the Code for Sustainable Homes, the provision of space and services at Kew Bridge enables occupants to all apartmentstosetupahomeofficeinaquietroom.Thisencouragesoccupants to work from home which, in turn contributes to lower carbon emissions.
