They were last seen inside the jail at four pm on the 20th, and they were reported missing just two hours later when guards were releasing inmates for dinner. Their means of escape and whereabouts are still unknown, and under investigation. The chief security officer has stated that the prisoners could not have escaped without inside help, directing blame at his own employees. However, the truthfulness of this statement is doubtful, as anonymous prison employees have told our reporters they know many ways in which prisoners could escape. They also added that the chief security officer likely wouldn’t want anyone to think that this prison was ineffective at containing prisoners. The first official Banana Times was printed three years ago, with the top headline “AutopsyUnderway”, and a story about theupcoming mayoral election:“Elections are underway inCavenville to replace the lost Mayor. The two canidates are Sir Jilf for theTraditionalist party and Al Hilk forthe Radical party.” The date ofpublication for the true firstnewspaper is unknown, and so are itscontents, lost with time. What we doknow is that this paper was thefoundation for what the BananaTimes is today, and was the solereason for the Banana Times’existence. In the beginning, mapswere printed with each edition toprovide more insight into the BananaIsles, but after a few weeks thepractice became unsustainable. Theformat of the newspaper has changedsince then, with the design itselfgoing through major changes. Immediately after guards were aware of the jail break, the prison went on lockdown and local lawenforcement agencies were quick topatrol the area around the prison. However, according to the PoliceChief, with two hours the prisonershad enough time to travel far awayfrom the prison, and it would beunlikely for them to still be in thearea. Unsuprisingly, they were notfound in the initial search. TheCaven Island Police have started amanhunt, and have started stoppingand searching all cars leaving theIsland.

BANANATOWNE REOPENSAfter the total annihilation of Bananatowne on New Island during the New Island War the small

town was completely rebuilt: first the infrastructure, then municipal buildings, then buildings forbusinesses and residents. In September, the roadswere completed, and downtown buildings werebeginning construction. The quick construction hasallowed for the total completion of a new town in just

a few months. The New Island River dam is still beingbuilt, along with the bridge connecting New Island tothe other Isles. One week ago, residents finallyreturned to their town, completely rebuilt andredesigned. Business owners are still working to get

their shops open, and many supplies are still being brought in while this occurs.
