Not Unified The natives of the South Americas were large groups of cities, that were all very self supporting and centralized.

The lack of unification between these cities was one of the downfalls that led to the wipeout of these civilizations.

Because there was no unification, some groups would team up against others with the conquistadors.

Disease With the arrival of the Spanish conquistadors, there was widespread disease that dominated the majority of the population.

The disease itself would spread faster than the explorers, who would find leaders and large populations of cities dead before they even reached him.

Within 1 century, 90% of the native population had died from disease

WeaponryThe weapons that the Spaniards

had was a huge advantage to them.

The most useful weapon, surprisingly was the sword, not guns or horses.

With the inferior weapons of the natives, they were just plowed over with the advanced steel
