This past fall 2014 semester, Omicron Pi accom-plished some great things as part of our effort towards Chapter of Excellence. Here are some of the quick highlights:

- We recruited over 20 qualified business stu-dents for the Phi pledge class, thanks to Senior Vice President Shivani Desai.

- Through the pledging process, Pledge Educator Keith Wilson Jr. ended up seeing 16 new brothers initiated November 8th.

- Omicron Pi showed up big at LEAD in Atlanta with 13 brothers attending!

- The chapter grew professionally through sev-eral Professional Activities set up by Tim Mor-ris (VPPA), which included a Linkedin workshop taught by our very own faculty brothers, profes-sors Angela and Wilbur Stanton; this was also followed up with a headshot session shot by Ali Assadi. New MBA director and Brother from Uni-versity of Central Florida, Dr. Turmel spoke to us about Radford’s MBA program. A jam packed semes-ter also held a resume and cover letter workshop hosted by Radford’s career services center.

- We were able to give back through several com-munity service events set up by Brittni McMillan (VPCS) including a BT’s hosted fundraiser for the Wounded Warrior Project. Project Linus was another great cause as we donated time and fabric to create blankets for children with cancer.

- There were several planned brother bonding activities that were cancelled due to weather, but eventually we were able to all get together down at Bissett Park for a barbeque on a beautiful af-ternoon. Thanksgiving brought us together once again for a putlock held in Heth hall.

- Fundraising went well for the semester through several bake sales and car washes. Our biggest fundraiser came through the Yankee Candle drive, which was huge!

These were just some of the highlights from last semester. Omicron Pi is proud to be working hard to move forward to achieve the Chapter of Excel-lence recognition.

Omicron Pi received great publicity in the local newspapers for the commu-nity service fundraiser held at BT’s for the Wounded Warrior Project.

Omicron Pi had a great showing in Atlanta at LEAD. Pictured to the left are many of the brothers who attend-ed with our very own RVP Karin Olivio after we recieved our certificate for Chapter of Recognition.

Pictured above are all of the Brothers who attend-ed dinner in Atlanta, the friday night before LEAD.

For Founder’s Day on November 7th, Brothers got togeth-er for some fun bonding bowling in the Bonnie on campus.

Below are several Accounting Majors who attended the VSCPA dinner in Roanoke, VA.

brothers at our table during last falls club fair. We successfully re-cruited over 20 students for the Phi class.

Vice President of Pledge Education Keith Wilson Jr. alongside his Phi Class after they had successfully made it through the initiation ceremonies. Congratulations to all 16 of our new brothers, whom we ex-pect great things from! Several Members of the Phi class were elected to the Executive Board including Brianna Koppleman (Fund-raising Chair), and Mike Lopez (VP Commu-nity Service).

To the right is a photo-graph of the brothers pri-or to the big-Little reveal for the Phi pledge class last Fall. It was a fun time for all of the brothers and their littles. With a scavenger hunt and bit of guessing in the dark by the littles, literally!

Thank you to all of the Alumni who were able to make it to Radford for the Phi classes initiation. A special thanks to Phil Gilbert, Whitney Massey, and Mark Patterson (Nu Chi) for being a part of the part I ritu-als. For the first time ever, Omicron Pi completed two ritual ceremonies completely from memorization, both the Pinning Ceremoy and Initiation Part II.

One fundraiser from the Fall that was extremely successful for our chapter was actually one that ended January 6th, 2015, our Yankee Candle Fundrais-er.With the help of over 30 plus Brothers as well as 2 of the Phi class Pledges we were able to sell and raise over $500 for the chapter!

Several members of the chapter along with Faculty Advisor Dr. Bruce K. Blaylock, went down to Atlanta for the International Pro-duction & Processing Expo. The event was a great opportunity to learn more about the agricultural and poultry industry. Many of the brothers came away with great leads for job opportunities and internships as well as job offers with companies such as Tyson’s.

The photograph to the left was from Rad-ford University’s Tartan newspaper. Awe-some job getting Omicron Pi recognized and setting up our members for a success with opportunities like these.

To start the 2015 semester, we plan to hit the ground running recruit-ing in COBE. Senior Vice President Marcus Wooling has some big plans to help grow our illustrious frater-nity. With several events planned at the beginning of the semester sever-al information sessions and meet the chapter events will be held.

In an effort to prepare potential pledges for the process we will be hosting a resume and linkedin work-shop to help set up prospects up for success. Omicron Pi will also finish the recruitment for the Chi pledge class by hosting our inaugural Mocktail Party.

We have a plenty of our “Blood to be Family” screen-prints left. Contact VPAR to order your shirt.

Get your Deltasig “Corona” screenprint. We have most sizes still available.

What has become a chapter favorite, we have a small supply of the green longsleeved DSP Seal screen-print shirt. Contact us about our inventory or if we can put together another order for Alumni!

Dear Alumnus,

We hope that you are doing well in your career and personal life; the Omicron Pi chapter is very ap-preciative of your continued support of the chapter through your communications, attendance, and dona-tions.

For those who may have had some changes in your life please update us whenever you get a chance so we can keep you up-to-date with what is going on with the chapter, the fraternity nationally, and with your fellow Alums.

As the new VP of Alumni Relations, I will be at-tempting to help grow the support from our alumni through a few ideas including having you write ar-ticles for the newsletter updating everyone about what is going on with you. We will also be trying new avenues for fundraising outside of just do-nating through Paypal, which you can still do! Ask about our inventory of Deltasig Screenprints, on this page you can see several shirts we are offer-ing but there are more!

If you have any ideas on how we can better inform you, write content that you want to see, to give back to the chapter by donating your time or financially, please get in touch with me. Thank you for your continued support and we look forward to hearing from you

Fraternally, Ali Assadi VP - Alumni Relations
