In the mid 1950’s, Mary O. Ganton, a dedicated nurse was caring for senior citizens in her three bedroom home in Jackson County. This dedication to Jackson seniors grew into opening Jackson’s first modern nursing home. Since then the Ganton name has become synonymous with loving quality care for Jackson’s seniors. Mary’s

example continues to inspire John Sr., John Jr. and the employees of this family owned and operated business.

John Sr.’s one campus philosophy began in 1982, when he purchased the skilled nursing from his brother Merv Jr. and renamed it Countryside. Since then, he has carefully planned each addition and is proud to offer every level of retirement living at this Robinson and McCain Rd. location.

Countryside offers a full continuum of care that includes skilled nursing and rehabilitative services. Countryside

Care Center is an 108 bed facility licensed by the State of Michigan and certified to accept Medicare and

Medicaid. Residents enjoy worry free retirement living knowing that their individual needs will be met if they experience a change in health status.

Our campus is home to over 400 of Jackson’s seniors. Those who live on our campus receive priority placement into all levels of living when their needs change. Whether it is a short rehab stay, or a long-term move to skilled nursing, our residents receive priority placement throughout our campus without having to leave their familiar surroundings, family and friends.

Skilled NursingCountryside Care Center residents that require skilled nursing experience quality care from well trained nurses and aides 24-hours a day. Dental, hearing, podiatry, lab, x-ray, I.V. therapy and physician services are provided on site. Dementia CareThe Meadows is a 20 bed secure unit within the Countryside Care Center for those with elopement issues or more extensive behaviors. Specially trained staff use a range of structured programs and activities to meet the needs of each individual resident. RehabilitationOur Rehab residents enjoy exceptional physical, occupational and/or speech therapy, spacious private and semi private rooms, Wi-Fi, private phone lines, plasma televisions, daily activities, transportation to and from necessary appointments related to your stay, an on-site pharmacy, meals overseen by our Registered Dietician and much more!

When insurance reimbursement constraints preclude a rehab stay or a longer hospitalization, residents can receive care, support and assistance with a short term respite stay at Countryside.

Countryside Respite Care “A Bridge to Home” allows a resident to grow in health, strength and independence before returning home. Residents are provided the security of 24 hour-a-day caregiver support while receiving therapy and nursing services.
