Quiz Series

Last week we completed out academic quiz series for 2015

with stage 2 and parents v teachers. Our goal throughout this

series was to create interest and excitement with an

academic focus—we certainly achieved this. Thanks need to

be passed on to all, especially Mr Jetson for his quiz skills,

and a special mention to the staff at Cessnock West Public

School for writing the teacher v parent questions. Due to the

success of this initiative we are already discussing a 2016

quiz series!

Enrolment Forms

New enrolment forms will be sent out next week to all

families. This is to ensure we have up to date contact

information and that all categories of data held on our system

are accurate. Some of the questions on enrolment forms are

used by the Department of Education to calculate school

funding to support learning programs for students, so

complete and accurate data is very important. If anyone

would like assistance with these forms please let me know

and we will arrange this support.

Morning Tea

Thanks to all for attendance at today’s morning tea—it was

great to have the opportunity to catch up over a cup of tea

and a biscuit. We are planning on making this a regular

event on our school calendar—watch this space for the

December date.

Disco & Parent Information Session

We have scheduled our term 4 disco for Wednesday 2

December—this is an opportunity for the students to be

involved in a disco and for parents to attend information

sessions in the classrooms, focussing upon strategies

parents can use to support their children’s learning. The

session times for infants disco and information session are

4-5pm and Primary disco and information session are

5-6pm.

Enrolment for 2016

Enrolments for 2016 are close to finalised, with a large

amount of enrolments occurring during the last few weeks.

Student numbers have a large impact upon our ability to

plan as finances, buildings and staffing numbers are

heavily tied to student population. I ask that if there are any

outstanding enrolments for 2016 that contact be made with

the office to allow these to be processed and to support

2016 planning.
