Solid Green Fabric for Inner Border: Cut (5) 1.5” strips x Width of Fabric
Fall Print for Outer Border: Cut (5) 3.25 inch strips x Width of Fabric
Fall Print for Binding: Cut (5) 2.25 inch strips x Width of Fabric
General Notes and Instructions
All seam allowances = ¼ inch
All fabrics are sewn with right sides together
Assume width of fabric = 42 inches
Press all seams according to directions

Sewing Instructions for Half Square Triangles
Step 1: Take one 2 ½ inch cream square and place it
right side up on your work surface.
Step 2: Take one 2 ½ inch fall color square and using a
thin pencil, draw a diagonal line from corner to corner
on the wrong side of the fabric. Place it right side down
on the cream square.
Step 3: Sew along the diagonal line (Diagram 1)
Step 4: Trim the block ¼ inch from the line you just
sewed and press the seam toward the darker fabric
(Diagram 2).
Sewing Instructions for Letters T, A, N, K, F, U, L
Step 1: Lay out the 2.5 inch squares in rows according to the dia-
gram for each letter.
Step 2: Sew the 2.5 inch squares together row by row and press
seams open.
Step 3: Sew the rows together and press seams open.

Sewing Instructions for Letter H
Step 1: Lay out the 2.5 inch squares and the 2.5 inch x 1.5inch rectangles according to
the diagram on the right.
Step 2: Sew the Row 3 and Row 4 squares and rectangles together as shown below
and press seams open.
Step 3: Sew the 2.5 inch squares together for Rows 1, 2, 5 and 6 as noted in the dia-
gram to the right. Press seams open.
Step 4: Lay out your rows in the order show in the diagram to the right and sew the
rows together. Press seams open.

Sew the Letters Together and Add the Inner Border
Step 1: Lay out the letters and sew all the letters together in the order shown. Press seams open.
Step 2: Take one of the 1.5” x width of fabric green solid strips and cut it in half. Referring to the diagram below, sew one half to
the left side of the table runner. Cut off excess fabric to make it even with the rest of the table runner. Repeat for the right side of
the table runner.
Step 3: Take two of the 1.5” x width of fabric green solid strips and sew the short sides together. Referring to the diagram below,
sew this strip to the top of the table runner. Cut off excess fabric to make it even with the rest of the table
Take the remaining two 1.5” x width of fabric green solid strips and sew the short sides together. Referring to the diagram below,
sew this strip to the bottom of the table runner. Cut off the excess fabric to make it even with the rest of the table runner.

Add the Outer Border
Step 1: Take one of the 3.25” x width of fabric fall print strips and cut it in half. Referring to the diagram below, sew one half to the left
side of the table runner. Cut off excess fabric to make it even with the rest of the table runner. Repeat for the right side of the table
runner.
Step 2: Take two of the 3.25” x width of fabric fall print strips and sew the short sides together. Referring to the diagram below, sew
this strip to the top of the table runner. Cut off excess fabric to make it even with the rest of the table runner.
Take the remaining two 3.25” x width of fabric fall print strips and sew the short sides together. Referring to the diagram below, sew
this strip to the bottom of the table runner. Cut off the excess fabric to make it even with the rest of the table runner.
Finish the Table Runner
Step 1: Quilt your wall hanging using your favorite quilting method.
Step 2: Piece the 2 ¼ binding strips together and attach to your table runner using your favorite binding
method.
