Why Youth & Employment ? In Asia and the Pacific there are 33 Million young people who are unemployed. They are up to 6 times more likely to be unemployed than adults. Where is this gap coming from? Is it because of the education in Asia Pacific that could not fulfill what we need in order to achieve our future goal? Or is it because of the Working culture in companies that difficult for youth in this generation to fit in? YouthSpeak forum will be a space for us to discuss over these topics. Not only for us to find the root of the problem, but also coming up as a solution from youth perspective toward the issue.

PROGRAM

The Global Community Development Programs are divided into two – Outgoing (oGCDP) and Incoming (iGCDP). As a whole, GCDP is designed to develop the individual and the community s/he is immersed in through a 6-8 week volunteer program abroad. oGCDP is the technical term for the program that focuses on the individual who will be going abroad – i.e, it is through oGCDP that AIESEC sends college students to another country for their volunteer opportunity. The volunteer opportunity is created by iGCDP. This program focuses on creating impact for the community and addressing social issues through AIESEC creating its own project (Project Based on Exchange) co-delivered with an NGO that acts as a learning partner or AIESEC partnering with an NGO, with the NGO managing their own designed program and AIESEC providing volunteers from a different country. Volunteers are not paid salaries and subsidized for their living expenses and travel costs.

Global Community Development Programs

Like GCDP, the Global Internship Programs are divided into two – Outgoing (oGIP) and Incoming (iGIP). As a whole, GCDP is designed to develop the individual and the company/organization s/he is in through an internship program lasting from 3 months to a year. oGIP focuses on the individual who will be going abroad. It is through this program that college students are able to find and go on internship opportunities in another country. iGIP is the program that creates the internship opportunity by tapping companies. Unlike iGCDP, AIESEC is not the one to design the internship programme but rather the company taking in interns provided by AIESEC.

Global Internship Programs

Please noted that your group initiative in action space should be able to bring forward to implement under either

Global Community Development Program or Global Internship Program
