For those who travel by land, sea, and air,for the sick, the suffering, the captives and fortheir salvation, let us pray to the Lord.

For our deliverance from all affliction,wrath, danger and distress, and from the perilof the coronavirus against us, let us pray tothe Lord.

The myrrh-bearing women at dawn veryearly, standing outside the tomb of the Giver-of-Life, found an Angel who was seated uponthe stone. And the Angel addressed them, andthis is what he said, "Why do you seek amongthe dead the One who is alive? Why do yougrieve as though corruptible the Incorrupt? Sogo back and proclaim it to His Disciples." [SD]

If any of you arrived after the sixth,have no misgivings, you have lost nothing.If some have been as late as the ninth, comeforward, do not be at a loss. If any of youhave arrived only at the eleventh hour, donot be dismayed for being late. Sober or heedless, honor the day.Those who fasted and those who did not,rejoice today. The table is full, everyone faresumptuously. The calf is fatted; no one goaway hungry. Everyone, savor the banquetof faith; relish the riches of His goodness. Noone need lament poverty, for the kingdom isseen as universal. No one need grieve oversins; forgiveness has dawned from the tomb.No one need fear death; the Savior's death hasfreed us from it. While its captive He stifledit. He despoiled Hades as He descendedinto it; it was angered when it tasted Hisflesh. Foreseeing this, Isaiah proclaimed:"Hades," he said, "was angered when he metYou below." It was angered because it wasabolished. It was angered because it wasmocked. It was angered because it was slain.It was angered because it was shackled. Itreceived a body and encountered God. It tookearth and came face to face with heaven. Ittook what it saw and fell by what it could notsee. Death, where is your sting? Hades, whereis your victory? Christ is risen and you areoverthrown. Christ is risen and demons havefallen. Christ is risen and angels rejoice. Christis risen and life rules. Christ is risen and notone dead remains in the tomb.
