A graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy and the University of Southern California started the Urban Mining Company in 2015, still in Austin, waiting to relocate to San Marcos later this year, when their 100,000-square-foot building is ready. Urban Mining produces high-performance magnets from recycled rare-earth materials.
