2017 Section Election of Directors Every two years our section will conduct an election for our Board of Directors as stated in our By-Laws. This is the time for members who are willing to serve to come forward. Seven members serve as our Directors. Any member (with current/active membership) may submit his/her name for nomination to Dan Coburn, Secretary, at his email address [email protected]. Nominations must be received no later than August 15, 2017. Please do not nominate another section member unless he/she has agreed to serve. A ballot with the list of nominations will then be included in our August newsletter. If there are NO nominations, other than for those already serving that are received by the Secretary by the above date, then no membership voting is required to take place. Officers of the Section will be elected by the Board of Directors from among the members of the Board. The Board of Directors will serve from November 1, 2017 until October 31, 2019. If you have any questions, please send them to Kathie Steele, President, at [email protected]. Our November event started off with lunch at the Alpine Haus German Restaurant in New Braunfels. We enjoyed the historic surroundings of the old world atmosphere… and of course the delicious traditional German food offered at the restaurant. Six Club members attended lunch before moving on to the Hill Country Gardens and Andrea’s Holiday Haus. Andrea Sanger is the owner of the Hill Country Gardens and the creator of the Holiday Haus display. She offered our members discounts on Holiday gifts and decorations. Attending their first club event were new members

Peggy and Troy Hill.

For our December Holiday event, we were given the opportunity to dine and dress to the ‘Nines’ at the Petroleum Club. Our friends and Mercedes Club members John and Jaquie Rothermel hosted this event. Club members enjoyed a festive dinner on the top floor of the Energy building with an extraordinary view of the city. It was a memorable evening with friends to continue the Holiday Season. The dinner and the service from the Petroleum Club staff was exceptional. We give a very special Thank You to John and Jaquie for a wonderful Holiday experience.
