Congratulations, you have successfully installed TestR on your device!

Select the desired server from the ‘Select Server’ option screen and tapthe ‘Done’ button.

The Cloud Server is selected by default.

If you want to access an institutional version of TestR please enter yourInstitutional server IP and tap the ‘Done’ button. (If you do not know whatthe IP address is please ask your IT or Technical Support team.)

New user? Register here first to receive your login information.

Tap the ‘Register Teacher’ link located on the Login page. Depending on your TestR app version, either your default web browser will open and take you to the TestR Registration Form page, or an in-app pop-up with registrationform will appear.

Complete the form and tap the ‘Submit’ button. You will receive a confirmation email that includes your login information at the email address you provided during registration.

Note: Enter a valid email address in the Username field.

The Login page provides login functionality, a Passwordreset button, and the Registration page link.

Enter your Username and Password to Login.

Forgot your Password? Tap the ‘Forgot Password’ link to reset.

The Students section allows you to create Course Levelsand Student Groups.

If this is the first time you have accessed your account you must create a new Academic Period before you can continue.

Create Academic Period

Tap the ‘Settings’ tab located at the top right of your screen.

Select ‘Academic Periods’ and tap the ‘+’ symbol at the bottom of the screen. Type in the Academic Year name, select the start and completion dates from the calendar drop down menu, and tap ‘Save’.

Add Course Level

Tap the ‘Add Course Level’ button located at the bottom of the first column.

Enter the desired course level name and short description in the pop-up box andtap ‘Save’.

Your new course level will be listed in the first column.

Students

Add Student Group

Tap the ‘Add Student Group’ button located at the bottom of the second column.

Enter the group name and short description in the pop-up box and tap ‘Save’.

The new student group will be listed in the second column.

Tip: Swipe the ‘Students’ page to the left to access the‘Add Student’ panel. Swipe to the right to close.

Add a Student

Tap the ‘Add Student’ button located at the bottom of the ’Students’ panel.

Enter student information in the ‘Add Student’ panel on the right and tap ‘Save’.

The student entry will be available in the ‘Students’ panel.

Edit a Student

Select and click on the student name listed in the ‘Students’ panel on the left. Student information will be visible in the ‘Add Student’ panel on the right.

Update fields with new student information and tap ‘Save’.

(All user information except Username is editable.)

Students

Delete a Student

Press and hold the selected students’ name in the ‘Students’ panel. A ‘Delete’button will appear.

Tap the ‘Delete’ button.

A final confirmation box will pop up, tap ‘Delete’ if you are certain you want to delete the selected student.

Student Logout

There may be an instance where you want to log a student out.

Tap the ‘Logout’ button located below the student information on the ‘Add Student’ page.

Students

Import Students

Tap the ‘Admin’ icon (located at the top right of the screen) and select ‘Import Students’ from the drop down menu.

Select the desired student import file (.csv) from the popup option screen.

Tap the ‘Submit’ button to complete the student import.

Note: your .csv files must be uploaded to iTunes prior to TestR import. (The iTunes file upload process is reviewed in the Admin section of this manual.)

Tip: Want to save time? Use your favorite spreadsheet application to create a bulk student import .csv file and simply import using the TestR ‘Import Students’ feature. The .csv import file includes details such as Course Level, Student Group, StudentFirst and Last Name, Email Address, and Mobile Number.

Download sample .csv student bulk import file templates at www.mytestr.com/support. Click on the link ‘TestR Sample Student and SubjectImport File Bundle’ under ‘Downloads’ to download and save the .zip file to your computer.

StudentsExport Students

TestR features a handy export option that allows you to save and export your student account information to a .csv file.

Tap the ‘Admin’ icon (located at the top right of the screen) and select ‘Export Students’ from the drop down menu.

Enter the desired email address in the ‘To:’ field of mail popup screen. Tap ‘Send’.

Check your inbox. You will receive an email with subject line ‘TestR: Student export file’.

Download the attached .zip file and extract the student.csv file using your favorite zip utility program.

The Subjects section allows you to add the desired subjects,chapters, and topics.

The Subjects section is used to build your test and add test content. Questionsare easily added by using the Import Questions tool or may be added manually. You may select question types, determine question difficulty level, and assign marks for each question.

TIP: Use a finger to ‘hold’a dropdown list, thendrag list up and down.

Add a Subject

Tap the ‘Select Course Level’ button at the top right of the screen, and select the desired course level from the drop down menu.

Tap the ‘Add Subject’ button.

Enter ‘Subject Name’ and ‘Description’ in the pop-up box and tap ‘Save’. The newSubject icon now appears on the Subjects page.

Edit a Subject

Tap the green edit button found on the Subject icon.

Enter new ‘Subject Name’ and ‘Description’ in the pop-up box and tap ‘Save’.

Delete a Subject

Press and hold the ‘Subject’ icon. The ‘Delete Subject’ box will pop-up. If you are certain you want to delete the selected subject tap ‘Yes’.

Add a Chapter

Tap the ‘Subject’ icon to access the ‘Chapter and Topic’ screen.

Tap the ‘Add Chapter’ button located at the bottom of the first column. Enter a ‘Chapter Name’ and a short ‘Description’ in the resulting pop-upbox and tap ’Save’.

Your new Chapter will appear in the first column on the left side of the screen.

Add a Topic

Tap the ‘Add Topic’ button located at the bottom of the second column. Enter a ‘Chapter Name’ and a short ‘Description’ in the resulting pop-up box and tap ’Save’.

Your new Topic will appear in the second column on the left side of the screen.

Tip: Swipe the ‘Topic Name’ page to the left to access the Question Edit panel.

Subjects

Add Questions Manually

Tap the ‘Add Question’ button located at the bottom of the ‘Topic Name’ panel. Select a question type. (True or False, Drawing, Matching, Free Text, Single Choice,Multiple Choice, or Fill in the Blanks)

Enter the question and answers content, select an image from your iPad Camera Rollif desired, assign marks to the question (1-5), and assign a difficulty level (1-5). Tap ‘Save’.

Your new question will appear in the question list.

Subjects

Add Images to Questions

Camera Roll images may be selected for use in test questions. Tap the ‘+’ icon displayed beside the question preview. The ‘Photos’ dialogue box will appear. Tap ‘Camera Roll’, then select and tap the desired image.

The image preview will appear in the question page. Tap ‘Save’.

.TIP: Need to import images from your PC to Camera Roll?

Option 1. Use iTunes to transfer and sync images to your iPad.Option 2. Email the images to yourself, open, then copy and save. Images are saved to your Camera Roll by default.

(Remember Camera Roll will rename the images by default.)

Import Questions

Select the desired question import file (.csv) and Course Level from the drop down menu.

Tap the ‘Submit’ button to complete the question import.

SubjectsExport Questions

TestR features a handy export option that allows you to save and export your test questions and answers to a .csv file.

Tap the ‘Admin’ icon (located at the top right of the screen) and select ‘Export Questions’ from the drop down menu.

Select Course Level and tap the ‘Export’ button.

Enter the desired email address in the ‘To:’ field of mail popup screen. Tap ‘Send’.

Check your inbox. You will receive an email with subject line ‘TestR: Questions file’. Download the attached .zip file and extract the question .csv file using your favorite zip utility program.

Create and organize your test templates in the ‘Test Template’ section.

Create your tests in the ‘Test Template’ section. Select question content, add the number of questions required, and specify the class and group of students that will conduct the test.

Completed your test template? Move to the ‘Test’ section to generate or publish your test and assign a test date and add test participants.

Add a Test Template

Tap the ‘Add Template’ button available on the Test Template home page.

Enter the desired test details in the ‘Template Information’ area. These include‘Template Name’, ‘Unique Code’, ‘Total Questions’, ‘Total Marks’, ‘Duration’, and ‘Difficulty Grade’.

Select desired ‘Course Level’ and ‘Subject’ from the drop down options and tap‘Save Template’.

Tap on each available chapter title in the ‘Chapters’ box below and enter the amount of questions desired from each chapter in the panel on the right and tap ‘Save’.

Remember the amount of questions entered and marks assigned must equalthe total template amount specified previously in the ‘Template Information’ area.

The newly created Test Template and corresponding icon are now available on the ‘Test Template’ page.

Next steps: tap on the ‘Test’ tab and publish or generate and schedule your test.

Edit a Test Template

Tap the green edit button found on the ‘Template’ icon.

Enter new ‘Template Name’ and ‘Description’ in the pop-up box and tap ‘Save’.

Delete or Duplicate a Test Template

Press and hold the ‘Template’ icon. A selection box will pop-up.

Select either ‘Duplicate’ or ‘Delete’.

If you want to duplicate a Test Template enter a new ‘Template Name’.

If you are certain you want to delete the selected subject tap ‘Yes’.

The ‘Test’ section allows you to generate, schedule and publish your tests and monitor student use and testparticipation.

This section also provides you with access to test results, including the ability to assess and recorrect student answers.

Generate and Publish Test

Tap the ‘Test’ tab to access the Test home screen.

Tap the ‘Generate Test’ icon to open the Generate Test screen.

Select the desired test template from the ‘Select Template’ dropdown box, entera test name in the ‘Test Name’ text box, enter a test code in the ‘Test Code’ textbox and tap the ‘Generate Test’ button.

All test questions available for this test are now displayed in the ‘Auto GeneratedQuestions’ panel below.

Do you want to replace a question? Tap the ‘Replace’ button and you will have the option to let TestR assign a random question or to enter a new question manually.

Tap the ‘Save’ button will save your test for future publishing.

Tap the ‘Save and Publish’ button to publish your test immediately.

Next step: tap the ‘Back’ button to return to the Test home screen, then selectthe ‘Schedule Test’ icon to schedule your test date and time and assign participants.

Schedule a Test

Select the desired ‘Class’, ‘Test Name’, ‘Student Group’, and ‘Test Date’. Tapthe ‘Show’ button to display the student list.

You can tap the ‘Select All’ button to select all students or manually select individual students by tapping on each name.

Tap the ‘Submit’ button to save and publish the test.

Test

Check Test Status

Go to the list of published tests and tap on the Test Name.

The Test Status panel will open and display test status information. Findout which students have started the test, submitted the test, or whois locked out of the test.

Unlock Student

TestR uses a test in progress ‘lock-device’ feature that secures the test. If a student attempts to opens a browser window or other application TestR is locked down.

The student must request an unlock code from their examinar in order to continue.

You can find the Unlock Code in the ‘Check Test Status’ panel under the ‘All’ or ‘Locked’ tabs.

Assess Student Test Results

Access the individual student results by selecting the student name from the ‘Select Student’ drop down box on the ‘Assess Test for Students’ panel. You will be able to review the student test results and re-correct manually if required.

Double tap on the question, update mark if required, enter a note or commentand tap ‘Save’.

Tap on ‘Assessment Done’ to publish the results.

TestExport Test Results

TestR’s ‘Export Test Results’ feature allows you to save and export testresults to a .csv file.

Tap the ‘Admin’ icon (located at the top right of the screen) and select ‘Export Result’ from the drop down menu.

Select the desired test from the ‘Select Test’ popup window.

Tap the ‘Export’ button.

Enter the desired email address in the ‘To:’ field of mail popup screen. Tap ‘Send’.

Check your inbox. Open new email message with subject line ‘TestR: Test result’.

Download the attached .zip file and extract the test result .csv file using your favorite zip utility program.

The Settings section allows you to specify your customacademic periods. Access the Settings section to purchase additional Test Packs or to find out how many packs you have available.

Add New Academic Period

Tap the ‘Academic Periods’ link in the left hand column.

Tap the ‘+’ symbol at the bottom of the screen.

Type in the Academic Year name, select the start and completion dates from thecalendar drop down menu, and tap ‘Save’.

Purchase Test Packs

Tap the ‘Purchase Test Packs’ link in the left hand column.

Select a Test Pack and tap the ‘Buy’ button.

A confirmation screen will popup asking you to confirm or cancel the purchase. Select and tap ‘Cancel’ or ‘Buy’.

Follow the resulting onscreen directions.

The Admin menu provides you with a selection ofadministrative features such as data syncing, import and export of student and question data, export of testresults, and ability to reset your account password.

Transfer files between computer and iPad using iTunes

Want to import Question or Student .csv files? You must first transfer files from your computer to iPad using iTunes.

Connect your iPad to your computer.

Open iTunes, and select your device (below Devices), then click the Apps button.

Below File Sharing, select TestR from the App list, and click Add.

Select a .csv file to transfer, and click Choose.

Sync

Tap the ‘Settings’ icon and select ‘Sync’ from the drop down menu.

All TestR app data and settings will be synched to the Cloud Server or your Institutional Server.

Tip: Make it a habit to sync regularly throughout the TestR process.

Change Password

Tap the ‘Settings’ icon and select ‘Change Password’ from the drop down menu.

Enter your old password. Enter your new password. Enter your new passwordagain to confirm. Tap ‘Submit’.

TestR’s ‘Export Test Results’ feature allows you to save and export testresults to a .csv file.

Tap the ‘Admin’ icon (located at the top right of the screen) and select ‘Export Result’ from the drop down menu.

Tap the ‘Export’ button.
