Aſter an inial trial recipe we discovered that the wraps would be more successful with an alternate recipe, and we are very pleased with the results. Our Wax wraps will be available at the front office unl sold out. See the photo and details on page two of this newsleer. Welcome back to Term 4. As always the final term of the year promises to be a busy one with preparations for the Junior Primary Camp, swimming lessons, final YELP and YEC presentations, Lego League and various SAPSASA events, sure to keep us on our toes as we speed towards our concert night and other end of the year celebrations.

External Review

The school has received the final report from our recent External Review and it will be posted on our website by the end of the week. The report gives the school advice and directions to continue our work to strive for high expectations for every student, through shared targets, collaboration across our classes, and the use of formative assessment. All schools are reviewed at least every three years and our school will again be reviewed in 2022.

Purple Orange

Under the sponsorship of the Purple Orange inclusion project, Julie Childs and I were privileged to travel to Townsville last week on a study tour to observe 3 schools implementing inclusive education programs. We had some key questions around the way we implement intervention programs, and utilise our much valued SSO’s. It was most valuable to see a variety of programs in operation that provide intervention and learning support within classrooms, rather than outside the class. This was possible through the flexible use of space and staffing. While our site is very different to those we visited, we discovered many of the inclusive practices we are familiar with, replicated in these schools, in very different contexts. However we also came away with many ideas to extend and enhance the learning in our school.

Needs Analysis Survey

Families are reminded that the Needs Analysis Survey for Out of School Hours Care is due back by the end of

this week. Feel free to contact the school if you need another copy of the survey.

Wax Wraps

As a part of our YELP and YEC groups environmental focus this year we have continued to seek and raise awareness to reduce waste in our school, particularly plastic waste. At the end of last term our students worked together to make wax wraps to sell to our community for use in lunchboxes or at home to replace the plastic bags and cling wrap. After an initial trial recipe we discovered that the wraps would be more successful with an alternate recipe, and we are very pleased with the results. Our Wax wraps will be available at the front office until sold out. See the photo and details on page two of this newsletter.
