TRANSCRIPT
Welcome to Week 8!
Last Thursday after school all Staff attended a professional learning session titled “How to Boost Engagement in Students”. This presentation outlined a major model of motivation and engagement- the Motivation and Engagement Wheel- and its relevance to students and teachers. We discussed some of the key issues relevant to realising the potential of students and focused on ways to maximise academic success, build persistence and control, reduce fear of failure and emphasise personal best. This was a great opportunity for our staff to think deeply about motivation and engagement.
Our next P& C meeting is Tuesday 26th June at 4:00. Details of the Variety Bash visit will be discussed at this meeting so we need as many people as possible to attend. The P & C will be providing breakfast for the Variety Bash Teams and they will be making a substantial financial contribution to our school. Many hands will be needed on the day of their visit!
Enjoy your week.
Regards,
Ruth Pidgeon Assistant Principal.

West Wyalong Public School Athletics Carnival
On Tuesday 12th June 2018 we held our annual Athletics Carnival. The day started out a little damp and cool but eventually the sun broke through the clouds.
It was wonderful to see our children running, jumping and throwing. Our children are to be commended on their sportsmanship and willingness to have a go. Many achieved personal bests and some have qualified for the District Carnival on the 14th August 2018.
We would like to sincerely thank Mrs Belinda Miller, Mrs Belinda Duncan, Mrs Leanne Cox, Ms Alison Pettit, Ms Sally Worner, Ms Lydia Ambachtsheer, Aaron Carter and our wonderful High School volunteers( Will Crossman, Luke Cameron, Rowan Duncan, Tiarne Lloyd, Abi McCubbin for their assistance with the field and running events. Every year we thank you for your efforts and continuous support of our students sporting endeavours. Our carnival would not run so smoothly without your expertise in these events. So thank you, once again.
Congratulations to our age champions!
