PAGE 2 INTRODUCING OUR NEW EARLY YEARS LEADER

Hello. My name is Rachel Black and I am thrilled to be in the role of Assistant Principal - Early Years at Elizabeth Vale School. I have come from Lake Windemere B-7 School in Salisbury North, where I have spent the last 6 and ½ years in a very similar role.

I have worked both internationally and state-wide during my time as an educator. I taught for 18 years in London, when I came back to Australia, I moved to Port Augusta as a teacher. I have worked as an Early Years Coach, an Aboriginal Coordinator and a Curriculum Consultant. My work allowed me to travel as far as the APY lands, Marree and Leigh Creek to work with leaders, teachers and children across the top of the state. The beauty of the far north is something to behold and I was very fortunate to have that time on the road.

When I’m not working, I live with my 3 beautiful dogs; Harley (rescued and very grate-ful) is 15, Tilly (my only girl) is 16 and Duncan who is 2 and a real handful. I have a daughter, a son-in-law and a granddaughter and they all live in England. I truly love mu-sic and I have heard the Elizabeth Vale have a cracking choir! I look forward to bringing even more music to the school over time.

Please come and say hello to me when you spot me moving about. I want to know all of your names as soon as I can. My office is in the Early Years building next to the pre-school.

EARN AND LEARN

WELCOME

The staff , students and community members would like to welcome the following students and their families to Elizabeth Vale School.

Stress Levels During the day our stress levels change depending on many different factors including sleep, nutrition, social interactions and work to be achieved. These stress level changes need to be managed, too much stress leads to stress, anxiety and panic, and not enough stress leads to mild alertness, boredom and sleep. For these reasons challenges when learning something new should be stressful enough to be challenging, not so much as to cause anxiety or so little as to create boredom.

READY TO LEARN

SCHOOL CARD Thank you to all who have applied for School Card, we have had a great

response already. If you still need to apply, please come into the Front Office anytime

of the day to do the paperwork.

Families,

Thank you for the generous amount of stamps you have collected so far. This program runs until 25th June, so there is lots of time to collect more and to get everyone to help us build up our total.

By now you will know that there are boxes in the Front Office and the Early Years building

We look forward to seeing sheets / stickers coming through the doors.

Thank you again for your generosity .
