Principal’s Report

Week 2, Term 1

Swimming Carnival

We are looking forward to the swimming carnival on Monday, which will go ahead even if it rains (how lovely is it to say that?). If the weather is cooler, please send adequate clothing for your child. Thank you very much to those parents who have volunteered to help on the day.

P&C Welcome Disco

Our welcome disco is on this Tuesday evening: 6:30-8pm. This is a great opportunity to greet and welcome new families and catch up with old friends. Please remember that all children must be accompanied by a supervising adult.

Assembly

Our first assembly for the year takes place next Wednesday at 2:15pm. At this assembly our senior buddies will introduce our kindergarten students to the school community. We hope to see you there.

Afternoon Pick Up

At our afternoon pick up, we ask that all children are seated in their home lines as soon as they come out of class. We understand that they want to come directly to you but it is very difficult to ensure that all children are listening to announcements if they are not seated. Of course, kindergarten are just learning where to go in the afternoon but it would really help us if you could direct your child to the correct place so they can get into routine as soon as possible. We would also appreciate it if you could ensure you keep the walkways clear (feel free to use the seats around the COLA), and keep noise to a minimum when announcements start. Please do not take your child from lines early unless you have made a prior arrangement to do so through the office.

Please do not park in the RFS car park during pick up or drop off.

Please keep an eye out in the newsletter and the P & C Facebook page (Paterson Public School P & C Canteen) for any canteen closures. We are fully run by volunteers and sometimes the canteen has to close, sometimes with little notice, due to volunteers being unavailable. If you are able to volunteer time in the canteen, please get in touch! You can message our Facebook page or let the office know and we will help you get started. Even if it's only one day a term, that is a huge help!

School parking is across the road from the school. If the RFS need to respond to an emergency, they need access to the car park

and fast exit at very short notice. Thank you for supporting our Rural Fire Service who do such an important and valued job.
