This is jewellery that touches a chord of aesthetic consciousness - within its gilded layers, it entraps history, memories and desire

Nature and temple sculptures inspired the forms, and balance & proportion dictated the designs.

MADHURYA took the initiative to revive the ancient style of jewellery making that is temple jewellery. Our vision is to preserve the dyeing tradition and reach out to all those artisans who are battling for there livelihood and want to leave the ancient tradition of jewellery making due to low paid wages.

Kasu padakam(A statement of wealth)

Pendant of coins bearing image of lakshmi studded with semi precious rubbies and emerald trace its antiquity to the mahabharata .the anitiquity of the jewel can be traced to the rig veda where the term niska might be the earliest reference to this type of ornament ,niska probably refers to some kind of monetary exchange and is used in connection with a garland of coins . the mahabharata too mentions it as an ornament for both men and women worn around the neck .the ornament probably became popular during the period of roman trade when the roman gold coins where used to pay for gems .in the 19th century ,it became very fashionable ,coins bearing images of the various hindu gods and goddesses were specially struck from dies .the purity of gold and the intrinsic value of the gold coin made this ornament a popular instrument of savings .

Traditionally this necklace has a central large floral motif ,which is inspired by the forms of nature .this piece uses a lotus like central motif ,the chain is beautifully combined with a floral motif .the gemstone used are semi precious ruby and emeralt .this style of craftmanship is particular to southern india .
