Working Smoke Alarms? Home Fire Escape Planning? It’s UP TO YOU

Holidays can be one of the most dangerous times of the year for home fires. All too often, these fires are started by careless cooking or smoking.

In many cases alcohol is involved.

Here are a few things you can do to keep your family safe:

1. Careless cooking is the #1 cause of home fires. Don’t get distracted, stay in the kitchen when pots are on the stove.

2. Drink responsibly.

3. If you smoke, smoke outside. If you must smoke inside, make sure you use deep ashtrays

and fully extinguish cigarettes.

4. Install and test smoke and carbon monoxide alarms; practice your home fire escape plan with all guests and family members.

Ice & Snow, take it slow, better late than never! Please take extra care while on roadways during the holiday season, your family is
