Thin Plate Pure Lead.The PowerSafe® SBS® battery series utilizes unique and proven Thin Plate Pure Lead (TPPL) technology to provide a superior range of VRLA batteries with an extended service life in compact and energy dense configurations. PowerSafe SBS batteries are manufactured to the highest international standards and are ideal for reliable use in all wireless and fixed-line communication applications.

The PowerSafe SBS battery models are smaller and lighter than conventional lead-calcium batteries. Smaller dimensions, front terminal configuration and capacity ranges from 31 to 190Ah, make PowerSafe SBS Front Terminal

battery models ideal for a wide range of Outside Plant (OSP) and small Central Office (CO) applications. PowerSafe SBS Front Terminal battery models can be installed in a wide range of cabinets and racks. For CO applications a six shelf, fully-wired NEBS™ certified rack is available. Multiple string configurations allow battery capacity to be matched to the load, which increases system reliability.

PowerSafe SBS Top Terminal batteries are available in capacities of 7 to 361Ah and in 2, 6 and 12V batteries. Smaller than competitive products, and with unique SBS and Japanese Industrial Standard (JIS) footprints,

SBS products are suitable for a wide range of telecommunication and reserve power applications especially where space is limited.

SBS PowerSafe® SBS®

Superior performance for the cost-conscious user.The Genesis® TD range of VRLA Front Terminal batteries has been designed to offer competitive solutions for the global telecommunications and information technology markets. Genesis TD batteries incorporate selected design features for the cost-conscious user, while retaining superior performance by weight and volume, increased flexibility of installation and reduced maintenance.

The Genesis TD battery range, comprised of three 12V batteries with capacity sizes from 50 to 150Ah, features a front terminal design for effortless installation. Terminal connectors are positioned at the front of the cabinet. With no overhead access required, the space between shelves can be reduced. The convenient front terminal design saves valuable time through easier access.

The PowerSafe® range of front terminal VRLA batteries has been designed specifically for use in applications that demand the highest levels of quality and reliability. Demonstrating proven compliance with the most rigorous international standards, PowerSafe V Front Terminal batteries, with a capacity range from 47 to 516Ah, are recognized worldwide as the premium conventional lead-calcium batteries for telecommunication applications.

The PowerSafe V Front Terminal battery has a compact design, suitable for 19”, 23” and European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI) racking, providing users with the benefit of increased energy density compared to traditional lead-calcium products. With electrical connections at the front or on the top on many models, installation and inspection are safer, quicker and easier.

DDmCost-effective and compact. The PowerSafe® DDm battery range offers an ideal solution for large capacity VRLA battery requirements, ranging from 105 to 2000Ah, in telephony wireline applications, wireless switching offices and shelter architected cell sites. This system’s steel can (module) design, with its integral racking system contained in a single piece jar, provides a cost- effective battery system with a compact, quick and simple installation process. The PowerSafe DDm battery system incorporates an enhanced cell design with a superior racking system. The enhanced cell incorporates thicker positive plates for longer life. The welded/epoxy, dual post seal design provides the highest seal integrity in the industry.

The large copper post design also enhances the high rate performance. Cells are encased in dedicated protective steel cans (modules) that maintain constant, uniform compression for the life of the cell.

Quick and easy installation.The easy-to-assemble racking system provides total flexibility for system configuration and allows fast, simple installation even in the most difficult locations. The PowerSafe DDm battery, with its optimized recombination technology, provides excellent performance and service life across a wide range of applications including, telecommunications, power generation/distribution sites and UPS.

A proven combination of GEL and tubular technologies.The PoweSafe OPzV battery range is VRLA cells which uses a proven combination of GEL and tubular technologies to offer a very high level of reliability with a range of 215 to 3170Ah. These single cells benefit from an optimized plate design which gives capacities in excess of DIN standards.

In addition, the PowerSafe OPzV battery range offers both a long float life and a high cycle life for a truly flexible solution. PowerSafe OPzV batteries are suitable for a broad range of telecommunication applications.

Proven long life. PowerSafe® mSeries batteries offer an ideal solution for everything from large-capacity VRLA battery requirements in telephony wireline applications, to wireless switching

offices and shelter architected cell sites. The PowerSafe mSeries battery’s steel can (module) design concept, with its modular racking system, provides a battery system with a compact, quick and simple installation process for NEBS™ applications. The PowerSafe mSeries battery offers a capacity range from 200 to 2000Ah.

The PowerSafe mSeries battery system employs a 2V cell design and is NEBS certified. This design utilizes thick positive plates, multi-banded elements, a welded/epoxy, dual post seal design and a large copper post which are all contained in a single piece jar housed in a steel can. This design provides long life due to its thick plates, dedicated protective steel cans (modules) and banded element design that maintain constant, uniform compression for the life of the cell.

Superior performance for long duration discharges.The PowerSafe FTC-P battery line ranges from 840 to 1810Ah and is specifically designed for the telecommunications industry. The PowerSafe FTC-P battery series, utilizing proven flooded flat plate calcium technology, is ideally suited for CO, cellular and microwave applications, providing excellent long duration discharges. The FTC-P battery series is NEBS level 3 certified.

With the multi-directional design of the post, PowerSafe FTC-P cells are easily configurable in any orientation. Cells are perpendicular to the rack support rails to optimize the footprint or they are parallel to enable easy maintenance while the system is online. The PowerSafe FTC-P battery series employs the EnerSys proven Slide-Lock post seal that allows for natural plate growth over time without degrading the seal. The innovative tongue-and-groove jar-to-cover seal provides reliability with a robust air tight seal.

FLOODeD BAtteRies Designed for the most demanding applications, EnerSys® flooded lead acid batteries set the benchmark for reliability and durability in flooded lead acid batteries and battery systems. Ideal for CO use and for supporting the wireline core network, flooded batteries from EnerSys feature a multi-cell battery design for lower installation costs and a space saving footprint. Their leak-resistant construction incorporates a tongue-and-groove jar-to-cover seal and Slide-Lock™ post seal design.

PowerSafe® FTC-PFTC-P

Proven long life and reliability.The PowerSafe® GU battery line ranges from 930 to 3900Ah, and is in a clear flame retardant flooded cell. The PowerSafe GU battery features flat plate construction with calcium alloy grids ideal for any long duration float application. It is ideal for CO and mobile switch applications. The clear flame retardant PVC jar casing allows ease of maintenance and inspection. The high capacity reduces footprints for large CO applications.

With the multi-directional design of the post, PowerSafe GU cells are easily configurable in any orientation, with cells either parallel to the rack support rails to optimize battery system footprint or perpendicular to the rails for easier element inspection. The new

post design enables cell maintenance without taking the entire battery system offline. This is due to the ability to use four intercell connectors regardless of the cell orientation. Two connectors can be left in operation while the other two connectors are being remade.

The PowerSafe GU battery series employs the EnerSys proven Slide-Lock™ post seal that allows for natural plate growth over time without degrading the seal. The innovative tongue-and-groove jar-to-cover seal provides reliability with a robust air tight seal. The GU battery series is NEBS™ level 3 certified.

Optimized design for higher capacity and reliability.

The PowerSafe® DU battery series has been designed to handle the demanding float and deep discharges typical for telecommunication applications. The DU battery series features proven flat plate lead-calcium alloy grids and includes the largest amp hour capacity four cell battery in the industry, ranging from 310 to 780Ah. The DU series multi-cell construction shortens installation time and reduces the battery string footprint.

The DU series has been designed with the edge of the plates oriented perpendicular to the rack rails for full plate edge visibility. The dual hole (top/bottom) terminal design allows for easy maintenance. Should maintenance be

required, with dual hole lead plated copper intercell connectors, two of the connectors (bottom) can be removed while the other two connectors (top) remain undisturbed while the maintenance is performed.

The DU battery series employs the EnerSys® proven Slide-Lock™ post seal that allows for natural plate growth over time without degrading the seal.The innovative tongue-and-groove jar-to-cover seal provides reliability with a robust air tight seal.

The standard UL94 V-0 material used on the cover and the container provides flame retardancy for safe operation. The DU battery series is NEBS™ level 3 certified.

The PowerSafe OPzS battery series has been designed for use in all standby power applications that demand the highest levels of reliability and security.

PowerSafe OPzS batteries benefit from an optimized tubular plate design that results in increased capacity, ranging from 216 to 3360Ah, compared to the requirements of the internationally recognized DIN standard.

The tubular plate technology offers excellent cycling performance together with a proven long life under float voltage conditions, for a flexible solution.

The specification of the PowerSafe OPzS battery cells make it ideal for a wide range of telecommunication applications.

Voice service protection.The FiberSafe® 12 battery is specially designed for use with the AT&T U-verse Voice® service and the iNID Power Supply Unit (iPSU). It is a sealed, rechargeable battery that provides approximately 4 hours of battery backup power for the AT&T U-verse Voice service when electrical power is interrupted.

The amount of battery backup time will depend on what equipment is used during an outage, as well as temperature conditions. FiberSafe12 batteries typically last 3 to 5 years at 77°F (25°C). The battery has a special harness to make installation and removal hassle-free.

A complete genset power solution.Featuring TPPL technology, ODYSSEY® batteries form the core of a complete genset backup power solution. EnerSys® provides everything required – batteries, racks, chargers, connectors and services – from set-up to maintenance and repair.

For highest levels of security and reliability.The DataSafe DX and DXC range of flooded lead-calcium flat plate batteries has been designed for use in UPS applications, more specifically large data centers, which demand the highest levels of security and reliability. DataSafe DX and DXC high rate performance batteries are backed by 20+ years of experience in the marketplace. DataSafe DX and DXC batteries are economical multi-cell calcium flat plate batteries. Multi-cell construction requires fewer units, resulting in lower installation cost.

While optimizing the space available in the battery room, it delivers superior performance making DataSafe DX and DXC batteries superlative cost-effective batteries. DataSafe DX and DXC batteries feature the EnerSys time tested Slide-Lock™ post seal design, bolted tin plated copper connectors, optimal grid design, heavy duty plate lug and strap, and dual lug design, which make this battery ideal for high rate applications. All battery systems are rated at 100% capacity at initial discharge.

Maximum reliability, minimum space.The DataSafe® HX Top Terminal battery range of VRLA batteries has been designed to offer superior solutions for the IT and UPS markets. DataSafe HX Top Terminal batteries are the ideal source of power to protect vital systems. DataSafe HX Top Terminal batteries incorporate select design features that maximize reliability while ensuring superior performance and an excellent service life.

Gas recombination technology for VRLA batteries has totally changed the concept of standby power. The minimal level of gas evolution allows battery installation in cabinets or on stands, in offices or near main equipment, maximizing space utilization and reducing storage and maintenance costs.
