These locations were all assessed and an Environmental Management Plan prepared which is hereby submitted for approval. Re: Geological Research Through Integrated Neoproterozoic Drilling – EMP – APP-00195

Dear Sir,

The Grind Project, Geological Research through Integrated Neoproterozoic Drilling, is an international

research project with the aim of addressing shortcomings in the knowledge and research database of the

Neoproterozoic Era. They wish to achieve this by creating a global core archive for this Era by

conducting core drilling in Namibia, Brazil and south China. This project is an international,

community-wide collaborative effort between several scientists of different nationalities, including Karl

Heinz Hoffmann, a geologist of Namibia.

In Namibia, five locations in southern Namibia were identified for core drilling. These locations were

all assessed and an Environmental Management Plan prepared which is hereby submitted for approval.

This far consent was provided for Drilling to continue on the locations known as Pokkenbank, Tierkloof,

Swartpunt and Orange River (see attached) Application for consent to drill on Witputs Noord is ongoing

and will only proceed if consent is obtained.

Due to time constraints we hereby submit the EMP for approval on condition that all drilling will proceed

only where consent is obtained. This will allow the project, which is of international scientific

significance, to go ahead on the areas where consent was obtained.

We trust that the above will meet the DEA’s approval. Please do not hesitate to contact our offices

should you require any additional information of clarifications.

Sincerely,
